Borris knew what the music would be like.
On the phone I also asked him why he was coming cause the music wouldn't be his taste and that he would suffer terribly. He said he knew all that. So if you know you're going to suffer, why come? And after that not to stop bitching about it? I think it's too much.

Your basic misunderstanding is that you think Borris does not enjoy suffering 
And again, I don't think he suffered, neither did Guy or any other of our friends (quite a lot of them) who knew they wouldn't like part of the the music, but came to enjoy a 3 day gathering of beautiful colorful people on the kineret.
I think Doof should consider for next time (and hopefully there will be many) that once they're doing such a long a big event they have to cater for a bigger crowd then their usual and a more diverse one, and also remember that for 3 days you need to bring more diversity in the music.

he is definatly a champ at that!
we all knew to what we're going - we talked about it from the day we got the flyer and saw the luineup. btw - where were Blanka? and a few more names are were missing - but we still went cuz we also knew that its going to be a wonderfull event (even historic ) and we're gonna have a laugh we will talk about for years. and it was exactly as I thought its gonna be. to be frank - my bet was that the police will close it due to whatever reason it found but i'm glad I was mistaken on that.
the problem though is that this is probably the last time that an underground trance event will take place in the kineret. so far I've been to 3 parties there - a Good Karma party that was shut by the cops bcuz of noize, a Twins party that went smoothly and the recent Doof festy that went smoothly but the noise it did made its way to the daily papers.... i think this festival was to big for our little Kineret lake.... unfortunatly Israel is not known for its many lakes....
anyway, kol hakavod again to the Doofs for making this event.

Well, I enjoyed the festival alot.
Even though the music wasn't to my liking.
i only think that the event coul'd have been much better to alot of the people present there. and i wasn't talking about progressive only, there was No Tech-trance, nor was there any "crazy-psy" like GOW or Meltiods Nor any finns. yes the full on wasn't of the classic comercial "T.I.P" type, but still it was only Full On.
Oh, and Zirkin played his set Very good. no expectable hits, very straight, level and with a giid sensation of time.
And Candy, the fact i know the music was gonna be that way is no excuse not to criticise it. and Max was much much much worse then i thought, i didn't criticise him because he played full on. i criticise him cause he played BAD!

Anyway Borris, I saw full dancefloor dancing when Max was playing the entire 3hr set, and they look like kinda happy...
I didn't saw any cat around, and you know, it's been a long time that he's playing around the world spreading a culture...
How u feel to criticise this bhitchy... maybe u didn't liked it... maybe u can teaching him how to mix..? maybe wasn't his best day (...or yours), maybe he was fooled people in all the continents for the last 15 years..?

Boris I hear ppl talking about this festival untill now, also Doof's crowd and many others, We All Knew what the line up is going to be. We all knew and were told in advance that the first night would be more of the "Power trance" - Full-on if you like, and that the second night will be more Doofy-like 
So nothing really to complain about here.
About diversity - and this might be a little too  here - I'm sure you want every party to have more Progressive in it, and I want more Psychedelic Finland music in each party, this dosen't lead us anywhere.
In Israel today, the ppl who have a word to say about who and whom are playing at the parties, are those who are behind it.
As long as we won't see different ppl from several party productions uniting for one "mixed party" - you won't be able to have the diversity you are talking about, nor will I.
 And again - Way To Go Doof! Shahar, Uv and all of you - Stay faithfull to your music and keep organizing such great parties and events

Ok....
I must add here that Sound System is also a type of ART!
It seems to a lot of people that you just bring the speakers - connect them to the amplifiers and ta-daaaa...
NO!! there's so much to it...
It is so neglected here.....! ...and every other party :-(
We've kinda got used to it by now...
But Doof people (and Shahar esp.) knows better... Addicted to Power Sound of utter insanity! |
