Wow that's a hell of a difference! Thanks for putting that up, made me realize i was mixing way too hot & not leaving enough headroom for the ME..

Also gives me a chance to compare my shitty mastering with yours (no comparison of course ) I guess good mastering can really add the final polish to the sound..

Would be nice to know your plugin-chain!           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

0hz, it's working fine for me.           When rain dries, clouds form.

Hi Ido,
I would like to know if u have your knowledge of sound, mastering etc... only by experience or you have a professional qualification.
If you do, where did you have it.

i have studied at - Yoav gera sound school in Tel aviv in 1996 when i was 16 , but i'd say that was very basic , but still a good start , and i think most of the knowledge i got (and its not eonugh) is from experiencing stuff , just listening alot in the studio and learning by the internet,
reading articles about sound - mixes , mastering , how to make psytrance (just kidding ) haha

it was said here , that when exporting a bassline , take several 2 note bits , and see which one sounds the best , for rolling the bassline , but the bassline has to flow up and down , phased naturally due to the analog in digital , it helps with the flow of the trak , i dont knowall i heard or read bout mastering is , give a lot of space for each sound/frequency's and they sound better that way , but the mixture of sounds , with 1 sound actually taking the lead/most prominent , kind of makes the trak more wavy gravy , i dont know what i say

Tnx for your reply Ido.
As I thought... there is nothing else but experience, all the rest are only tools.

hey Ido !!
I need your expertise man!
im trying to make some bass that sounds close to Analogiz but I guess i'm still missing something.
I mean I do it not to rip off your sound but rather to understand the whole idea of bass and kick mixing.
I tried using URS Fulltec eq but it doesnt quite help

Ido vary ñonvincingly sad that no one can make the same whithout knowledge all chain of procession. So you always be close to it, put somthing like 10 plugs, some Exciter / Enhancer or warmers, and you will still close, but not the same, so the reason is to find somthing yours... as Ido do... besides Ido told how he made it...

I just want to underline something here.

You can try around to make a bass like someone else for days and maybe you will never be able to.

But you can, with the same knowledge create a bass which sounds good and other think "how did he do that" within hours.

It's much more difficult to "sound like" than to "sound good"!!

I say: Most of the artists you look up to and think.. "uaaa how did they do this?" acutally are not aware of how difficult it could be for others to do the same, since it was easy for them, because they just did what THEY can!

But you are try to do what THEY can, instead of what YOU can. And this make it all a whole bit more difficult.

One more thing, If I have the time I will add something to my workshops on my page.
You can have a perfectly tuned bass, eq comp, everything perfect, but if you play a bad bassline with it it will still sound like crap.

So if you don't have both, a nice line and a nice sound, you will almost never get a good result. And you may have found the perfect tune for the bass, but lost it again, because the line was bad, or the other way round... so take care of that. try different basslines for every basssetting.           Most of my music for you to download at:

In short:

Making music is like writing your signature. It may look normal, or even like crap to you, but others think "wow how can he do that so fast?!".

You just have to come to love your signature and see, that its perfectly ok as it is JUST YOU!

You possibly already have the skills you need, but didn't recognize them, because you try the most difficult of all: sounding like someone else.
