In short:

Making music is like writing your signature. It may look normal, or even like crap to you, but others think "wow how can he do that so fast?!".

You just have to come to love your signature and see, that its perfectly ok as it is JUST YOU!

You possibly already have the skills you need, but didn't recognize them, because you try the most difficult of all: sounding like someone else.

agree 100%

very well said

HEHEH
i dont understand why, when it rarley happens that a real pro answers questions, gives examples, tips and stuff, someone has to rain on it....
there are a million topics on this segment that u can say "be original blah blah..", even every string on this section, but it doesnt help or add to anything...so....if you dont have something good to say, dont say it!
PLUR

btw: i think more producers should follow domestic's path and reveal some trade secrets, becaus the real art is not knowing the tricks, it's making music
dont be greedy on the info.

Thanks guys!

Hey Dark Force, are you talking about what I said?
Don't see this too dark ;-)

I think I said something good.

What I said wasn't ment against this thread or the tipps from pros, but just to say that one may already have the knowledge necessairy, but doesn't see it.

I actually was inspired by domestics post, about saying that you will always ask your self "how do they do it" I just wanted to say it in other words.

I think it's great that ido is giving tipps here.
I believe some pros don't give tipps because they fear "competition" since they only define through production quality.

You can maybe copy someones signature, but not his whole handwriting and writing style. And therefore:

DarkForce, check out my website, lots of tipps and tricks, even a whole songs cubase SX file there to download.          Most of my music for you to download at:

Yeah, Ido's the don when it comes to post-production, for sure, and I'd love to get an insight to how he does stuff.

Why don't you give tips? Surely you must have some of The Knowledge - you've had releases, after all, since your name is in blue. Come on, share the goodness like you're asking!

you are not only great producer....but also good person
that spent your time and trying help us!

tnx again!

p.s: i think there is no some scientific methods to make your good bass....
as domestic said before: use your ears just listen alot to music over and over again

the most important thing....is your ears and monitors

RESPEK!

hey Ido !!
I need your expertise man!
im trying to make some bass that sounds close to Analogiz but I guess i'm still missing something.
I mean I do it not to rip off your sound but rather to understand the whole idea of bass and kick mixing.
I tried using URS Fulltec eq but it doesnt quite help

if u could tell me what im missing in here, u would make my year! tx
