For sure it does.
Not just your memory,your analytical ability too 
All you have to do is support your brain with a balanced life.
Treat it like a muscle...the more your tweak it,twist it,turn it,the faster and precise is its response.
Just have to live the good life . Sleep too...lots of it.
It helps me to go that extra mile when I run....to get things clean around me....to get up each day n get high...on keeping me brain active.
N drugs are important...very important.
The more you keep away from it...the cleaner your life gets...
Cleaner n cleaner ....faster n faster .....longer the runs... vegies... fruits... money... cleaner...faster.... fruits....runs...vegies... money... fruits....
N then.
Boom!

many ppl try to memorise the tune. so that they can go to a party and say. hey! thts this track, oh and i know which is the next tune 
so for sure sharpens ur memory by practice
