Balance is the best way to go but still Psychedelic is the best of the best i must admit that this is my life also and that really nothing much can change that if it's not something better which i doubt that i'll ever find anything close to it. It does change your life, it does build more dreams in you and it does many other great effects in your everyday life! Plus it makes you more free and gives you more energy to go on through the many stages of life good and bad...and even so i love it and i thank God that i am so lucky to have this in my life that i will treasure it forever. Every moment i spend laughing, dancing and having the greatest time of my life with the most beautiful people i ever saw in the most beautiful place i have ever been, well every moment of that is really special and i want to remember it forever!

Lola has a point.......:
As the movement/lifestyle/music is soo interconnected with "living free" (cannot sum up all the values, customs etc) it shapes your everyday life in quite a drastic way..........on 90% of the people it opened their mind.....this is definetaly a positive thing!!
but, when one gets fully in to it this can be translated in less time spent on other things/habits etc....doesnt mean youre narrow minded but it is fair to say that you dont have the same variety of other experiences.......and the more variety the better!!doesnt matter if psy is the best (which i definately think!!!)
one of the aspects (in my life) that i often left for parties, psy holidays etc is sports......and im sure everyone reduced something that is a valuable alternative (and indeed most of these things stimulate the mind and spirit...) to go to a party or live the "psy" lifestyle.....come on' there are entire pages of discussion on the psy girlfriend/boyfriend issue which clearly show want im talking about...!
morale: if you reached this paradise (psy) you will never go back to hell......on the other hand imho it is better to always look for something more stimulatimg rather than thinking we have reached the "best".......... |

At one point in my life it really did effect me this way. Psytrance became the central point of my life, leaving very little space for some other things. It was during a period of weekend to weekend partying. Today its quite different. I`m still loving it as I did in the first place, but
I have more fields of interest today... I`m older now and I`ve focused myself on other things than just partying.

Yup, true dat. But it's a hard thing to do. when you're basking in the glory of a music that feels so complete, for your body, mind and soul, it really is hard to imagine there could be something more, much less something better.
It almost takes a kind of courage to explore elsewhere and to give yourself the opportunity to listen and find an appreciation for other musics.
I find myself drawn to roots music and pioneers of music - gospel, blues and jazz, bluegrass and old honky tonk, early sabbath.
The main thing I look for is genuineness.
Rather than feel you've become narrow-minded by psytrance, I try to feel what psytrance has taught me, in terms of what to look for and appreciate in other things (and not necessarily just music).
For me it mostly taught me to look (feel) for genuineness. When it's genuine, there is the chance you will find something in common with the artist (musician) and thereby find an appreciation.

It opened horizons in my mind….i found my self exploring it (my mind) non stop and thinking about many things in life…
((for sure there are normal ppl that this music doesn’t open their minds and it makes the opposite coz they choose this way like any field they are involved with).
I remember my childhood as a metal fan and hard-house, but first time I was exposed to psytrance, 10 years ago, I think It was astral projection, from that moment I started being interested in more and more styles of music coz I saw the influence of trance by those, and I read a lot of books related to psychology only due to this wonderfull music "Trance"….and still reading, searching, discovering new things….
I get aware to more and more things I didn’t know before 10 years….
these days...i still listen to many styles of music, enjoying all, but in a deferent level.
And I’ll listen to trance and other music forever…without being confused what is better…
Just enjoy….music made for joy, as we were created for joy

Being a psytrance fan does not make you narrowminded but just different imho.
Quite the contrary, I find Psytrance fans much more openminded and sociable than any other music genre's fans out there.
