Thought I'd start up a bit of a debate/discussion on here as I heard a track on a vid of a party recently and I fell in love with it (all 48 seconds ), so I decided to ask the person who uploaded the video onto YouTube and he said he was under strict rule by the DJ not to tell anybody. The DJ's reasoning was that other people might start using the track in their sets. Apparently this DJ refuses to give anybody the names of any of the tracks he plays. Anyway, dismayed by this, I sent the DJ himself a message on Facebook, ensuring him that I wasn't a DJ, let alone a DJ out to steal his set list to play at parties. Needless to say, I didn't get a reply...
So, what are your thoughts on this?
As a producer myself, I'd be very annoyed if a DJ refused to let somebody know the name of one of my tracks. For obvious reasons, I'd be annoyed as I wouldn't be getting the exposure I wanted; moreover, I would be very dismayed as music is something so 'sacred' (IMO), and for somebody who has no first-hand ties to the track to refuse to give out its ID, for ego reasons, is actually cruel (IMO)!
I still don't know the track ID and I have low hopes that I'll ever find out.

I think the issue runs deeper than this. The whole structure of Psy parties/events, any party for that matter, is really no different to the corporate world. I don't actually think that the DJs are what make a party. The best parties I have had the pleasure of participating in have had lesser known DJs and artists. They were great because of the crowd, the majority, not the small percentage who are put on a pedestal.
If the scene can find a way to change that topology then there will be progress, until then; it's the same, old same old.

Yes post the video on isratrance and someone will help you out for sure.
I can see some dj's not wanting to let track names known because the track is not released yet and this really upsets label owners.
If the track is available to buy the track listing should be listed, after all what are they trying to protect their ego's.

He probably ripped all his tracks of the internet for free, you know, not Ektoplazm but the torrent stuff, so he thinks he is very cool and can get around the buying stuff, because no artist give him anything for free... but the downside is that he can't tell you which track it is because that was not mentioned in the torrent file, so he play cool instead...

its a very hard track to identify because so many tracks have that type of sound. Its probably from parvati og zenon label. Im thinking perhaps Derango or sentient but i really have no idea.

LOL you piut Zenon and Parvati as sounding the same? Nothing recently of Tim Sensient sounds remotely like Parvati.

Nice call its for sure Pandora´s box - wazubi klazubi Ozmike .. i dident say they sound the same but that track could be parvati sound or some of the older zenon stuff like sensient vs legohead - modus operandi
