Defenitly #2...

And I rather a dj type #3 then a dj type #1,unless the dj type #1 as some meaning to make his performence.           En Sof Future Events:

defi #1 - the music for the party comes frm tht source
so the energy wat the Dj emits does also influences the party energy
a vibrant and a Dj who flows with the crowd and is evergetic in the console will defi keep the crowd energetic on the floor

some combo of 1 and 2, maybe 1.5;-)
like the dj who smiles, makes eye contact, somehow 'connects' to the crowd. i guess its all about the connection, building a rapport with the dancers.
the dj doesnt have to shake it too much, just enough to transmit to the crowd that he/she is feeling it.

btw: i also think Cedric(talamasca) is one of the best.

If the music is really great, theres no focus on the dj at all, just on the music, getting totally at one with it. Giving your total undivided attention to the music . If the music causes me to dance like an animal then I will regardless of whether others are doing the same. Im totally in my own world and I know that the vibe is important, but when ive reached "that stage" its just me and the music, I could be all alone or wtith 1000 people, it doent matter to me.

the way dj's act vary according to the crowd I guess. also it is the other way around. I like dj's having an interaction with the crowd, guiding them through their songs.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

I have to agree with that....the music is important and thats why I come to the party, not to watch dj...... I also like the freetekkno style of parties where dj is hidden behind a wall of speakers........there is no dj "star"......just the music and the party itself.....

I prefer 1 or 2 (having mostly bad experiences with djs 3 if they were not well-experienced in what they're doing)

if the set is at least good, I dont care what he is doing on the stage

dont forget that there are different personalities.....someone is just shy and he gives everything to the set           - http://sharpblaze.darknet.cz -

For me the whole point of dance music was in antithesis to the 'performance' aspect of a rock concert.
At a party it's the people who are the stars of the show. As long as the DJ mixes well I am happy. I don't even care if you can see them.
If they wanna jump around or look like the ice man then it's up to them, as long as it's not like they're crying out for attention, like "Oh, look at me, I'm playing great music"
I hate that kind of egomaniac DJ.

lame topic...
a dj should be himself....and shouldn't be labeled by people as being like this or like that...(they say "jump",you say "how high?")

i myself am really busy with the music when i stand behind the mixer,so i ain't busy with crowd entertainment (like waving my arms or shit )
if i feel good i can really go crazy, but if i feel kinda 'normal' then i act normal too...but it hasn't anything to do with anything else but my own feelings.

Question is who trips on a DJ ?
Its music what he plays and when.. going with public rather than his own heart..
DJ is like a God.. he should know how to do it !
yet, the way neuromotor played was an amazing act i had ever seen.. Goa Gil doesnt even move but still he moves us ..and you dont even come to know where uve reached.. so are your movements concerned to the movements of DJ ?

not totally manu
but Dj with good energy and who dances with the crowd defi acts like a catalyst to the fullon vibes.
like last sat Rizo frm DarkSoho gave the perfect act. He danced with the crowd and was at the same level with all hence connecting better with them. The crowd loved the Dj dancing to the freaky tunes and they themselves could feel the magic.           ------------------------------------

When a DJ with good energy and vibes connects with all the ppl in the party it is definitely super experience ! Better connections multiplies the buzz and you can feel the magic.

But there are some DJs who play good music but give connection error.. which may spoil our trip.. So i can only trust the speakers everytime.

Secondly not everytime its full on dance music ..dunno about the present ..may be ppl just wanna have fun ..think less and dance... ive seen ppl hating me for playing psycho dark stuff.. lol

I surely missed darksoho .. should have been there..

The ultimate DJ behavior in my opinion, is for the DJ to act how he feels. Like I dance how I feel, the DJ should "flow" with his feelings and not to think what will drive the crowd crazy and then act according to it.
