another discussion about the dark side
lets face it people there is no darkness
there is no light
if there was only music
then all music has its own place and its own style
visavi the djs playing the music have their own style to flaunt
its what s in the bag
its what you like to collect
there is so much bad trance so lets not talk about bad trance
but the hardcore producers that are few are making kick ass music which takes you on a wild ride, wilder that you can imagine.
so Dark wtf
is all a bunch of chow propoganda concocted by djs and ravers who do not wish to reach into the deapths of where trance can take one.

Even if as a DJ, I tend only to play so-called uplifting or morning psytrance, and for sure i only buy those euphoric extatic records, it doesnt prevent me from enjoying good quality dark stuff. As a matter of fact, back to when i discovered the movement in the mid-90's, there was no such distinction!
Now I found myself completely tripping on the dance floor while very dark crazy acid full on music was playing, and two hours later i was playing the extatic full on stuff with a big smile on my face. And guess what? the 'dark' DJ was tripping like crazy on my set!! So this is what Psytrance Goa is all about: DO YOUR STUFF and let your mind open to all!! Why select the feelings you want to experience? Be a complete being,let yourself goes! Trance through Unity!! |

Guys, just one thing don’t mistake past with future, ok? Nice sounding melody is most likely not a psychedelic one , and this up lifting trance doesn’t uplift me nowhere , base lines to weak , kick is no good , and its not twisted ... just some Indian girls singing , some eastern melodies , sure u can take lots @, have good sound system and al that doom-doom boom-boom , can trick people . And off cause if u listens to Britney spears on good sound, you gonna start going along with the beat of her music too ...
People don’t get mistaking!!! If the music u listen to is not twisted - IT's NOT PSYCHEDELIC.

Totally disagree! Music without melodies is not music its just sound! Even in the old goa trance was made up of melodies some are dark minor keys some are melodic keys...all these terms twisted and fluffy they just degrade the music! As long as the music takes you on a journey then that's what i call psychedelic! Why is Pink Floyd for example twisted????

I have a firm respect for all types of music and unfortunately even I can classify them into different subgenres, but I have a firm respect for melodic music as well as non-melodic music... I mean what IS music anyway? Cleverly arranged sounds in to frequency patterns that one finds appealing.
What gets me going crazy, might not work for you, and that's OK... I am glad that I at least have the option to listen to what I want... I mean what would it be like if there were only one side to the music???
All genres of music tend to have this debate too. I personally think it is utterly recockulous... The whole process of life is balance. Ying and Yang, Ebb and Flow... If the ebb doesn't make you move, cool, but don't dis it though. The ebb will make someone else move and this world is entirely too large not to share it.
Music is music, and it doesn't matter what particular type you like, as long as what you like is available for you to listen to. There are lots of releases coming out with multiple sounds and feels and grooves. Why limit yourself and close your mind, isn't trance about broadening your horizions?? It's fine if it doesn't do it for you, but you should be thankful to have the opportunity to explore what makes you shake your ass and what doesn't....

hey right kids? its only really music (yes i know it is the all-RAWK) so when we write words or try to speak poems about the music we just confuse each other and our li'l personal trance dream bubbles start feelin fragile. but say, it is the trance and unless you are a robot (maybe even then) it will take you on and youd better try to keep up. dark trance is beautiful disease. |

hi pepale ... all this dark psy like psycho micro and all this guys ... for me its full full on ... and what realy make me feel dark ... is thing like the delta.. m.o.s....and some thing like that.. its a real dark and not "zwikee zwikee" ....

dark should be only in add to other genres..
like dark full on, dark techno, dark progressive, dark my ass...
its not a genre, cause dark is only a feeling that can be in any other music..
