hey guys,

my opionion is that the "trend" goes to dark psy .. what you think about ?? why more and more ppl listen to this kind of psy trance ..why more and more artist changed their style or why more and more new artist began to produce dark stuff? the ppl like more evil dirty stuff as fluffy morning grooves ?

sorry about this stupid topic ...i know its a taste question ...but i want to know why the taste to dark psy exist... maybe someone out there can answer me this question

go to the top 10 section every secound top is a dark psy top ...morning psy / full on is to commercial or what is happend ? or is the dark psy music more creativ and more spectecular as the morning stuff ??

i want to know whats your opinion about this "Trend" ???

Its the same evolution as 5 years before. Just with more speed in the trax and with more quality in the producton. After 3-4 years we will listen to Astrix 2.0 again. (In case of the hope that the mp3-vampires hasnt sucked all the blood out of the artists- and label-veins until this date)

Have a nice day

it's all a matter of taste and good music if the music is good then i do not make distinction between the genre! In fact i do not like this distinction at all because it splits the scene between this dark side and the fluffy side or what you call it! People nowadays are not one anymore they just say yeah killah track keep it dark yeah man devlish or something like that and if you do not like it some tend to see you in a different light! But let's face it when the music is soooo good nobody can make this distinction because this distinction comes from the music being not as good as is supposed to be in my opinion always...

I like both sides absolutely love to hear good dark music in the night and lovely fluffy music (not commercial) in the morning!

I think this is just a counter-trend to the fluffy Ibiza influences on full-on and progressive. It may not be the counter-trend we've all waited for, but it's about time for change. Music that's less fluffy and generally crazier is the trend... Suomi in the morning, dark stuff at night instead of soft fluffy house wannabe music at night and cookie-cutter full-on in the morning - I personally think this is a blessed change. I've had enough of people trying to make stuff better and I'm enjoying the fact that some people try to make stuff that's not only better but also new.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

in my humble opinion, keebota, i think the so called "darkpsy" is the new generation of "underground" sound..by other words..the "full on" is 2 much mainstream...which means everybody knows the tracks or already have listened 2 them...
so, dark means underground, not much knowledge by people 2 thix kind of sound....the mainstream everyone knows it...
that´s why, i think, more and more people are producing thix kinda sound...which is ironic, cause as the number of artists continues 2 grow, more mainstream it getz...
many people that are around the scene 4 a couple of years (6 maybe more), want it 2 be like in the past...see thix: u have a party with astrix gms and skazi, and u see the number of "addicts" u get in that party...
now u put the new dark producerz (quality producers, and not much known around the world)and u will see how much people will go 2 that party in comparessing with the other...and think, if both parties happened in the same day..and iun the same city..but in diferent locations..
i guess the reason is cause it still is alittle bit "underground" comparing 2 other "genre"
my opinion of course.           ...

Totally agree mate! It really is down to the quality in the end; just because it's dark and twisted doesn't make it good music - even if people see that it is cool to counter the full-on trend. If the music really is psychedelic (which I know can be interpreted by the listener) then it is good IMO. Fluff psy or dark or chill or whatever - this scene is 'Psychedelic' Trance and it's the psychedelic nature in these tracks that brought us all into it in the first place.. F*king insane, mad, strange, weird, PSYCHEDELIC music...            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

Haha basilisk.

I agree with kaz by the way. Just as this new “dark killah” is a counter-trend on the fluffy full on, the fluffy full on was a counter-trend on the dark minimal wave that kicked off before the millennium.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

well this trend of leaning towards "darkpsy" will eventually take darkpsy down the same old road which "full on" is on presentrly........

im already beginning to see the effects.........most of the artists that had incredible underground sounds have lost what they had a few yrs back...........today theri music fails to create an impact on my mind as it did a few yrs back..........

hope it stays on the underground           At the end there is a DOOR & waiting for you on the other side of that door is either HEAVEN or HELL

i agree with Stash here.. too many dark music coming up on the scene can make the music itself predictable and give low credit to creativeness... people might start to think there is nothing new there. I myself for instance, always listened to the heavier, more dark sounds, and still do! but i've began to listen to more and more morning trance and even goa... and i get a different feeling, i always end up finding out new sounds and different rhythm structures each time i listen to them.

dark psy? Hello? if you bother to listen to any pre 2000 trance it is exactly the same but with poorer production quality... I"m not a huge fan of it, but the last thing it is is dark, it's just true psy trance, not cheesey half hearted happy hardcore alien project stuff..
