Damage has been one of my favorite artists for a long time now....I still have to give this album a few more listens before I can really comment...my favorites so far have been 4,5,7,8,9...

To those who said the old damage sound was all James, well he appears along with Deon on three of the tracks on this new album and in the past some of the tracks that were released under the Damage name were produced by James or Deon and not both..."Psychic Abruption" (one of the BEST EVER Damage tracks IMO) is all Deon, while "Power Management" was all James (at least according to the liner notes on 'Africa in Trance'...). So you simply cannot say the old sound was all James influence...

I do hope we'll see some Damage vs Broken Toy tracks or Damage remix of Broken Toy or Broken Toy remix of Damage in the future...that would rockkk!

...looking forward to hearing Damage live this summer           ~gOa ist nicht nur musik sondern auch eine lebenseinstellung~

Oh me too.

I recon is just a case of mastering at the label.

HE has nothing to do with that process.

All the releases he has are PHAT!!

Killer my man!!!!!

Overall the album is good...
but Damage could have made it more psychedelic....
Not very much to the expectation....

Surely some tracks work at the Dancefloor, but we all have lots of tracks that work as well. I think people these days are looking for some DIFFERENT dancefloor bombs.

Nope, that's you growing older. People still want the same recycled-full-on-formula-killer-dancefloor-killerness thing - and this album aims just for that. The average trance listener that has started listening to full-on at parties during the last two years (those are the majority of trancers) will still find this exciting.

I too wasn't as thrilled with this album as I thought I would be. You can definitely hear the CC influence in this album. One of the things that turned me onto Damage was their way of hinting at some of the harder dance music styles in the tracks that they do. My biggest complaints were the leads though... Seemed a little too hi pitched for my taste and a little more ravey than I had expected. The drum work is phenomenal though, which Damage is really really good at. I hope that he puts out another one soon, preferrably with another label though.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Would you really like to hear the answer to that question??

I see CC going the way of F-8 if any of you guys know about that particular label..           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

What about F-8? It is American trance label, eh? But I don't have any idea of what they do and wht wrong with them...           Spiritual guides are to practice and serve in ways that cultivate awareness, empathy, and wisdom.

Frequency 8 was a trance label (not psychedelic) that was based out of SF. They made Cybertrance or "Anthem Trance" They did tunes like save the rave and other things along those lines, and were pivotal in the commercialization of the "non psy" trance scene in SF. They were the masters of the really big builds and what could be described as Victory trance. Each release they had, whether it was from Mars and Mystere or other artist had the same sound and thus got many people burned out on that particular sound and genre. I personally feel that they were instrumental in the oversaturation of that genre of music and also lead to that genre's decline.

Chemical Crew has some really good artists on it (I'd never thought I would have ever said that) but it appears that each of the artists that release on that label have very very similar sounds down to the tricks that they use and the styles of their songs. I have been listening to Damage since da Killa and IMHO, I feel that his album would have sounded a lot differently if it had been released on another label. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with the Chemical Crew sound, just that many unique artists have released on this label and made very similar sounding tunes. I would hope that if Deon were to do another album, it would both sound different than this one, and secondly not sound like it cam straight from the Chemical Crew factory. I honestly feel the same way about 3d vision as well, it seems that the artists are now taking a similar sound for all that release on it. I am used to many compilations having different sounds to each of their tracks and each label not having a "signature sound" to it.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
