there is no end to suffering...whether you do charity or dont do charity. i mean those who feel good by doing charity kind of think of themselves as "superior" to the ones they contribute to...they think the ones they are contributing to are "inferior" to them or less fortunate etc...charity is a concept of economics ,plain and simple...its just another artificial way to distribute wealth...in the real sense its just results in overpopulation as people grow more and more dependent they reproduce like crazy...think about it in 1900 the world had a little over a billion people...today we have little over 6 billion, by 2015 thats going to go up to 9 billion...havent we done enough charity?
Ultimately charity or no charity people suffer just as they feel happy..suffering is only a feeling...physical suffering is only a manifestation of mental image of suffering that has been created in us. its nothing more than fear of death...save the children, save the animals, save this save that...what you gonna do with all the saving after you are dead?
the whole idea of saving lives, is plain stupid...no body saves any body, people are born people die thats all...what you experience is life and suffering is only an element of life...not life itself.
When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive |

the topic was being more general than charity and how much money we can give to them...
for example i think your quotation exemplifies how we can reduce suffering......
use constructive discussion not destructive ones....
