98 was the best, but can't be compared to today's trance reality!

2004, was f**** excelent!

Very detailed festival, with taste and organization! Lots of greatartistic visual instalations! A real Psy city, in Portugal!

As for the music, it was expected. Bad line-up, in general... but great vibes in the dancefloor

moment of the festival: JAMES MONRO set. This guy is the truly master! Kick them James!!!!

Pena was very impressive, and also d.Tektor. Flow Records bombing!

I really would like to know official numbers.

25.000 people seems to much!

I would say a number beetwen 15.000 and 20.000!

In 2006, invest thhe money, in the same structure, but in a betterline up!

actually the organizer ie. the person responsible for sound is not in this forum and has never been. if you want to make any comments, then write to info@boomfestival.org and they will hear you:) and respond.

ps: was anyone there at the very end of the festival on the mainstage, when nirmal played his last track that finished with this sample (something along the lines of) "the party is over now!!!"
if so, let me pls know what track it is, and also by whom is the la plaia rmx that also Nirmal played, and when/where is it released if at all? i really liked the ending of boom....          BOOM 2006 www.boomfestival.org

Really impressed with Boom this year(better than Voov and Omni this year for me) ,since last in 2002 wasn´t that good in my point of view.Good line-up , good ambience ,conditions , food , only the soud system was crap!!!
Think that a PA like Voov experience would be the one for this kind of festivals.
Above all was a really great experience.

Ps: Nirmal had the track of the festival for me , the one just before his first stop when he was with his arms in the air...woowwuow what a track wonder what would that be...

Hi There !

Here is a virtual community about the festival at ORKUT (an exstensive social net system).

It´s gonna be amazing to meet you there talking about your experinces, sharing pics, dreams, or whatever you like. And being virtually, all together again.

you can find it here:
http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=80424

But it´s necesary to be invited previously to ORKUT for making the log in, so who wanted, can write me to emotracks@mail.com and I´ll send the form back.

peace & light

Sebas.

Hi there,

Organisation: 10 /10

Music: 6/10 ** why no more excellent live act with 20 000 peoples: you have the budget for this no ? Some djs from portugal not mixing in their set, it is a international festival ?

Best djs for me:

1- Elf @ turbo trance ( psyché)
2- Dimitry nakov @ spun ( psyché... the end of their set)
3- Petr digital @ digital structure ( progressif)
4- James Munroe @ old flying rhino ( progressif)
5- Reflex @ new israeli sound ( prog -psy)

Sound: 7/10 * not the best , the quadraphonie system is very difficult for have a good quality of sound in a big dance floor.... to much experimental again for use in a big festival. this is my opinion.

Set up ( deco, installations, visuals) : 9/10

Vibe: 9 / 10

restaurant /food: 8 /10

It was my first experience at the boom, may be my last, because it is to big and not to much good music. And i m rob a bag in my tent with my cds !!! What the fuck...

peace

juft recovered frm the after party and the after after party and the after afte after party.
what can i say, boom this year was number one! what a vibe, what abeatiful hippy gathering. and the fucking amazing lake!!
standing in the north/west speaker zone you could even enjoy a decent sound (mono but pumping)the dance floor really took up on saterday when zirkin and troy gave a wicked, psychedelic, uplifting set that got all the acid bubbling in the veins and pushed the party to the next lavel. after that the energys were high in a way that every music was enjoyable in a way. i even danced my ass off (when i wasn't laughing) to chicago. man i didn't heare some of those since 98. didn;t know they still make this music. was fun.
jahbo gave a super darkish twister and azax wa just right to pick it up.
whre the fuck was nexus? he's from portugal,no? he could have been perfect after that. shit, got lots more to say but iimi too stoooned

I presume you mean the remix of Etnica's Trip Tonite. That remix is by Fractal Glider, and will be released on the next Boomrecords compilation.

hi to all!
for those who say that people who didn't like boom are a bad energy for the festival etc.
i spent a lot of money and time going to boom. I said i would go since last year after Samothraki and I did. the good thing I can say is that the people were nice, happy faces.
but that can not make it up for the bad sound and in general for the luck of good organisation. when you advertise yourself as the best trance fest. of the year, then you should give people what they deserve. most of the people go for the drugs, not the music, so they don't care. but i went for both and got only one. anyone who says that the sound was good, is either deff or just was too high on drugs! I mean, I love festivals and everything that has to do with them, but I expect sound, it is a music festival.
anyway, I am just happy to see that there are other people who felt the same way as I did. some of you may not care that their money are now in the wrong hands, but I am very sad, because I worked my ass off to save them.
and if it wasn't for some nice people i met at the festival, for me it would have been a total waist of time. sorry if some do not agree, but that is just my opinion.
Get what you deserve,people!

i just realized that i haven´t written a review yet. well here it is:
the only set i enjoyed was shift´s set. i might have enjoyed some other sets but i couldn´t really bring myself to be at the main dance floor because the sound was hurting my brain. it all sounded like heartbeats. boo-boom boo-boom. (hey that´s a pun too - boo boom for the bad sound :P )
in general though the music at this festival wasn´t too great but i anticipated that so i wasn´t disappointed.
but there were plenty of other things to do there. the chillout was really great with excellent music whenever i was there. the deco was amazing. the flea market was nice too (i got myself some nice clothes). the free internet was also cool. but the best thing at this festival i think was the liminal village - the art gallery, the presentations and workshops, the crises tent, and especially the ppl who organized it all. i think that all big festivals should bring these ppl over.
oh, the whole toilet/shower thing was crap. they actually closed the showers for most of the day - wtf?
anyways, all in all i have to say that i had a pretty good time.
now i´m enjoying myself in barcellona for a few days and when i come home i´ll post some pics.

Well nothing new I could say, about it: sound was terrible. At the first night it made me so disappointing, that I couldn't hear Digital Talk's nice voices on a great sounding system that organizers should show up for a festival like this. I don't want to spend more words on this, because I took myself trough on this matter after the first night, and had a great big fun time at Boom with lots of friends, and met a lots of great people.
Musically it wasn't my taste except a few acts, but I've already knew this before, so no surprise, except Dark Nebula, who shouldn't call himself dark anymore.
The line up's order for me was funny sometimes. They should had work more on this.
I also agree, that Jahbo played the most psychedelic set on the Boom! I also really enjoyed Digital Talk, (against that the sound was the worst on the first night, not much better after), Azax Syndrom, (against that he also seems to moving bit of a more commercial style), and the Mechanik crew madness (against that is not really my taste of music, but always makes me dancing somehow. )
There was some little problems, like 16 showers for 25000 people, working 12 hours a day, but what to do? Waiting. Not a big deal.
Otherwise the organization was really good, the decoration was killer, the place also, and the lake really saved us!
But I also agree that because of the music and sound, for a lots of people it was more like an international meeting point, and not a big trance dance experience.
Anyway, i enjoyed a lot!

hi there....
my view in a few words:

location: 8/10 a wonderfull lake with places where you can stay all day long without see other persons, but most of the camping area was very angular.

music: 8/10 for me was it not enough night music, but a good line up with a bit for everyone.

food: 6/10 was good a wide choice but hig priced.

organisation: 9/10 good infrastructure, but the problem with the showers and the bars.

sound: 5/10 stop the noise and start the music....for my only in front of the stacks the sound was ok. every step it sounds different. and with this budget you can make it much better.

visualisations: 10/10 one of the tops of the festival.

decorations: 8/10 one of the domes looked unfinish for me. and to concentraded on the dancefloor. good work!

problems: the dust, 16 showers, the feed of the bars, the soundsystem, and what the hell.....why you don´t ban these gabber, hardcore freaks from the area???? or stop their sound. i don´t was there to sit in front of my tent in a war of two soundsystems. what was the problem that they had not stopped them.

70 - 100euro + the long way for many of the ppl was this party not worth!

this is my opinion!

and about the positive vibe that i maybe derange. i heard ppl from the boom crew scream to guests who start to build their camp on the emergenci road (who not was tagged that is not a part of the camping area): we love war not peace!!!! go home with youre shit.....

thanks to zirkin, jahbo, darkpsy they played the best sound for me. azax modified in the comercial class slowly but hearable.

but for all that i had a good time there.....

stay psyed
