It seems we all agree that the sound system was unadequate for this kind of festival, I was expecting that cause they never mention the equipment prior the festival. Although many people complained that the festival is going to be "dark" and to much night music we experienced the opposite, regretfully. Aside the mediocre sound quality, dust and lack of shadows this festival got its spirit from the very first day. The vibe was near perfect, loosen people, friendly faces, the psy link was present.
My favorite acts:
1. Azax Syndrome (way to go!!!)
2. Space Tribe (the man who knows what psy trance really is)
3. Dark Nebula (different from previous work but still good, very deep)
4. Menog (diversity is part of trance)
5. Rastaliens (unique sounds, morning killers)
Disapointments:
1. Digital Talk (producing music for the masses, not for the hard core trance society)
2. Hyper Frequencies (liked it before, big disappointment)
Surprises:
1. Quadra (the beauty of psy vibrations in the morning)
2. D Tector (original, varied)
I would like to thank all people who organized the workshops and presentations, all those smiley faces, people working at the info stand and of course the festival organizers.

P-mac... I'm writing to you because I know you are involved with the Boom Festival organisation.

It would be great to have an official comment from the organisers about the sound at this year's Boom; I know a lot of people were very disappointed with it, especially given the official apology which I was told was sent out last year about the same subject, and which apparently promised that the same mistakes would not be made this year. Also I personally would appreciate an explanation of the necessity for Boom money; is it true that Boom took 25% commission from the food outlets?

Personally I had a fantastic time at the festival; it was my first Boom and I thought the organisation and infrastructure were first rate. However much I wanted to enjoy the music (the prime reason for the festival's existence) though, the system held me back from full immersion and if I - and many others I know - are to be enticed to repeat the experience, we need to be sure that it will deliver on its promises next time.

With greatest respect,

Colin OOOD

just got home today...had a look at all the pictures again, and yes, we had a f.... great time. very very well organised. thank you for the party of the year! the sound system, always a point to be discussed. better next time maybe? so that good quality music is available all over the dancefloor.
it wasn't a party to save money, but i find it was worth it all the time.
.....see you : )

Well i have been in the boom...
And i have so much fun there...
It was nice see soo many friends around and playing good music... nice psychadelic experience, fantastic pll around... good vibes... great
But, like everybody says, was some (big)problems in the organisition like price, line up, sound system, bathrooms, showers, food, for ex... but nobody is perfect right?LOL
But, like colin said, i was waiting for some official comment for the organisers... but i´m see that is not possible... until now...

Well I got a reply from PMac... he agrees that the sound was not all it could be, and said that it caused him problems too, during his set. He'll forward my email to the Boom office and, like the rest of us, await their response.

He didn't say anything about the issue of Boom money, but that probably is nothing to do with him; it remains to be seen whether the rest of the Boom team will have any comment on this.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

yes the soundsystem sucked big time, the line up was poor..(only Dimitri saved our Boom (y) ) BUT the apologies for me should come for 2 different issues :
first of all the nightmare on the camping!! everybody will know what i mean there was an independant soundsytem full power playing as good as non stop hard house, hard trance , drum&bass to hard core and gabber!! people were sleepless for days! the organisation couldn't handle a bunch of bad karma geezers who had no respect for anyone! we saw mothers with their children crying and shouting infront of the dj begging them to stop! if u don't have enough security on such a big event to clear these problems it sais enough...almost no security=no controle!

The second and probably bigger issue was : THE BACTERIA IN THE LAKE!! a friend of us ended up in a hospital together with a bunch of others laying on IV , the docter told her the organisation was warned for the bacteria but they ignored all warnings!! this is unforgivable! 17000 ppl swimming in the lake for 7 days and longer, children etc etc...

for this they should apologies BIG TIME!!

All in all for us the ppl made the festival it was a nice gathering with some good psychedelic vibes!            ...the mind is like a parachute...it doesn't work unless it's open...

i really do not believe this story, as i was a witness to all paramedic and medic activity on the site at all times. P_Mac is the main medic of the BOOM and while we had many dehydration cases, and some trippy scenarios, this is an isolated case of bacteria. neither the hospital point where trained medic firemen (BOMBEIROS) nor the organiziation was EVER informed about this, and never did we have a case during the festival before or after it, related to any ALLEGED bacteria. i do believe that isolated cases happen of all kinds of things, diseases, overdoses, food poisoning and basic disregard for ones well-being (not eating, heavy alcohol and drug abuse, etc....) but an accusation like this deserves more than just a post here. please contact info@ketuhrecords.com, for the paramedic or info@goodmood.org, and send us a medical report on this, as it is something that the crew is very keen to see.
only then will your allegations be considered.
thanks

Medical services at Boom were first class; I had a couple of friends at Boom who had 'trippy scenarios'; one guy who drank a whole bottle of liquid acid and was rescued from the lake by some French girls (he had to go to hospital but was fine and enjoyed the rest of the festival), and one girl who flipped out after (again) some acid, but the people in the sanctuary tent took good care of her. all kudos and respect to the Boom medical services!

Also I was in the lake twice a day (at least!!!!!!) and had no problems, neither did any of my friends.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
