I buy mostly ambient/dub/chill stuff...

Its a bit expensive, and the website is not very user-friendly (no samples.. I listen to samples in other places, and then buy there)...
But, the shipment is soooo fast, and it comes perfectly, never had trouble.. The owner of the store (Lloyd) is a really friendly guy who is always willing to give you recommendations and always answer all questions.. Plus, the catalog is huge, full of world music too, and they have some rare cds sometimes
I also buy from http://www.psyshop.com but I can only order one at a time because of brazillian taxes
http://www.saikosounds.com took aaaaaaaaaages to deliver my shipment, but it came nice.. The time it takes to deliver sucks, though....
for ambient, http://www.amazon.com also has some nice releases sometimes, which you cannot find in other places (I was having trouble finding shakatura, for example, and there they had it) |

It's www.psyshop.com for me... nice prices, and quick shipping really does it for me. It's happend that I ordered a cd early moring one day, and received it home late afternoon of the next day... Mostly I can count on 2-3 days though.
When psyshop doesn't have it (which unfortunately happens) I turn to www.trance-shop.com and www.saikosounds.com. Trance-Shop is slightly costlier, not only in price but in shipping costs, they have a nice selection of current cd's, but lack a bit in the older-stuff-department. SaikoSounds has a lot as well, at fair prices... shipping isn't cheap though (seeing as they're in HongKong and i'm in Netherlands) and I can order only two at a time because of import laws in the Netherlands...

saikosounds delivers ultra-quick in north america... I often get my shipment within five days, and it's all easy to track online. Shipping is cheap too. They're my preferred online shop... hmm, in fact, I don't think I've ordered anything elsewhere for about a year with the exception of ebay and private trades.

I used to use Saikosounds all the time, but on my last order they took over a week just to ship it out after I ordered, then it took over a week to get here, and when it did, one of the DVDs I ordered had a broken case and was totally scratched up. I sent it back, and am waiting for a new one, it's now 3 or 4 weeks after I ordered.
To be fair, the broken case might not have been their fault (things happen in the post), and they did offer me a free CD for the delay in getting it sent out. But I had to choose from that small freebie list, none of which I was that interested in. But hey, its a free CD.
Anyway, I'll probably order from them again but I have ordered from psyshop and never had any problems, super quick shipping too. I guess there's a risk using any of the online shops, just hope you catch them on a good day! |

Sorry to bring this topic back from the dead but I had to mention also Psy-Harmonics - where I buy either the Psy-Harmonics stuff, or old or special c.ds that I can't find anywhere. They are a bit expensive and the shipment takes a while (Australia) but the service is great.
I prefer to pay some extra money if I know I will get a good service. Psyshop may have good prices but they treat their customers like shit. This is why I mention Saikosounds again as #1. Always treat their customers with respect, have a very wide variety of music (which Psyshop doesn't cause they sell only the "best sellers"). And if I have to wait a few extra days to get my c.ds so be it! At least I know I'm in good hands.

Living in the US, i have to say Saiko rules. Incredibly fast shipping(2-3 days), friendly prompt replies to questions, and prices that can't be beat. If it is the difference between a couple of bucks and great service, I choose the service everytime!
