psyshop is good, until something goes wrong. saikosounds has the best customer service.
Has anyone noticed that psyshop's selection has been rather lacking recently ? No wizzy noise remixes, no alien project, no mental case comp..... |

I am surprised the shops can survive with soooo many releases coming out every week. There is no shop like a recordstore in the old days, where they stocked & restocked every release in all music directions.
But what I miss in the basic criteria for a online shop is the loading time, & here is psyshop, trance-shop & cosmophilia the best. No big graphics & very basic interface. Saikosounds is the best for lay-out etc. but a disaster for people on a modem/phone commection!
I have good experiences with psyshop, trance-shop, saikosounds, wirikuta & cosmophilia. They all do a good job presenting a online store, but it will never be a shop like the 1 on the corner where you can sit, listen to the music, smoke a spliff & chat about new releases.

you are right, psyshop does not have available some big latest releases such as the Wizzy Noise Rmxs, Neo Logic album, Alien Project new album, new Solstice releases, Mental case comp +++.....boycotting them for its own reasons...also never had available one of the top releases of last year- the Cosma album.... as I said before I hope that monopoly (and blackmailing) issues between the shops-labels-distributors dissapear, this scene does not need this....
also it is a really crap attitude to post as "cd of the week" a release that you make more profit out of (when buying it direct from labels and not distributors)...it should be based on how good the music is and not the profit made out of each release....!!!.....I understand that it is a business practice but this is music we are talking about !!

As a label owner I must say that until now Chaos unlimited, Trance Shop and Saikosounds have been honest and up to help labels. People who runthose stores are serious people, doing it not only for the business (of course), but putting lot of passion and effort in them. Psyshop is very professional but wants to have the monopoly (as Alex says) on the trance market.
As Alex says, again, this scene doesn't need this. We talk a lot about stopping the mp3 and internet sharing, but many people wrote me because they can't find a particular cd in the online store where they usually buy only because of some political reasons between the shops owners...

wow, that is awesome. I've been surfing saikosounds more often than psyshop recently for finding out about releases, on account of their already longer samples (2:30 minutes as opposed to psyshop's 30 seconds)...
Maybe they're doing it for the progressive releases so you can hear the slow buildup in the tracks better?
psyshop costs about a dollar less though. |

i've been buying for a long time, bought from some pretty obscure places but saikosounds and chaosunlimited always proved the best...
nowadays i use saiko more than chaos, but just because the pound is so much more valued than the dollar, it gets bloody expensive for me. chaos team is very nice (i felt deeply when they lost lorien). saiko's team is also very very nice and i've had the chance to be in their office in hong kong and they are just super nice and overly happy to help...
bottom line: people, go out and buy your music!!! you will definitly enjoy the experience i can assure...

Never had a problem with saikosounds and psyshop, both reliable reasonable postage to australia and generally cd's arrive within a week. |

Do you think the psychedelic music online stores ever will get a "free shipping service"? I would shurly buy 3 times more records then. I use Play.com like a shop'a'holic for DVD's ect.
My problem with psyshop.com, trance-shop.com ect ect is that in Norway, if you buy products on the internet for over 24.3487 Euro. I have to pay taxes for them (25%) So then it's hard for me to get payed from my job and blow 100 Euro + on one order.. Because I dont wanna pay 100 Euro + 25% on one order you know.
At play.com I can buy 10 cd's and they all will come in "many" packs that are worth max 24.3487 Euro pr pack. So if I buy 10 DVD's where 1 DVD is worth 20 Euro, I get 10 packs NO SHIPPING FEES!  And I dontt have to pay 25% in taxes 
If all the psymusic shops form one "super" shop they copuld proberly do the same as Play.com. But we live in a real world where this is not possible i guess..
