The best set I've ever heard is from Jeff Mills back 8 years ago....
And because of what he did with the techno scene I have to choose him as the greatest historic dj of history.... topic related
Otherwise for mixing skills I've seen kentaro, but is more a dj show, it's impressive, but not really danceable....
One dj I really have appreciated is Dave Clarke he's got amazing skills while making very good flow and tracklist, but it was also back 8 years ago... I don't know what's he's up now...
One dj I've always respected was Fatboy Slim, but I've seen him this year and was really not so good... and I don't think he was mixing for real...
I was expecting a good mash up of his track plus new stuff and old school traxs but was more like the latest electro house hit

I don't think scratching is the same as djing. It is related of course but different. So qbert might be the best scratcher in the world. I don't know if he is the best dj. Or is scratching and djing the same to you?

I think scratch is a technic a dj use.... the best scratcher in the world is not automatically the best dj in the world....
And also scratch is for some style of music but not for all...

Richie Hawtin is my favorite... I guess there is no "best" of... favorite would be better term.
