Not sarcasm... more a gentle, friendly poke in the ribs! Ok, so I haven't actually been looking for something like that but it's good to share information and there is much in Mike's post that I will find useful. I'm always looking for ways to improve the sound of my tracks, and seeing different perspectives and methods is how we learn. Mike's production rocks IMO so I'm very interested in hearing how he gets his sounds.

I know it's been mentioned before - it's better to use an audio track for kick instead of triggering samples by MIDI? If the sample is tight and clean could you stay with MIDI or not reccommended?
If not using the TC works compressor but still using SX, how would you go about the side chain compression?
Thanks for the tutorial and response to my questions:) |

Colin 000D has an excellent post giving step by step, how to use the Waves Comp-Sc1 to sidechain your kick and bassline. Do a search for "sidechain compression" and look for Colin as the author.

Using the TC Works compressor is much much easier. I really don't see a point in using the Waves SC.

I think he meant he doesn't have the TC works compressor
Plus, its quite easy once you sit down, learn whats going on and understand how its working. Took me 2 hours but I got it |
