Every time i get in here i see only recommendations, every album is "great".
it looks strange to me, although i usually have the same opinion. there should really be some bad albums somewhere...so lets make a refreshing change...it would be intresting to hear which albums u found bad, or at least "not so good"

ill start with "Aphex twin - Selected ambient works volume II"
(dont confuse that with selected works 85-92 which is Great!)
aphex is one of the best, but i think this album is a sad joke. almost every track here is made of one pad changing between 2 notes or so, in annoying lines that dosent change, with nothing in the background.
mayb 2 tracks like that is ok in a 9 track album (who said ishq?) , but 90% of the tracks in a double CD? what was he thinking??

anyway- lets hear you...

Totally agree with Margherita, music is a matter of personal taste. All music is good           Don't Worry, Stay Trippy!

well, just as ´bad´ is subjective, so is ´good´... so since we talk about good cds, we might as well talk about bad cds, knowing that its just opinions and nothing more =)

for me, bad chill cds? Sorry, havent found any... I mean, really, all cds in my case, I really really like because I either pre-listened to them or got recomendations from people that I can trust...

I did hear some mp3s of some cds that I didnt like.. Those are mostly the beatless ambient (like huva network), which are too ´sleep music´ for my taste.. The only one of this kind that I enjoyed is Ishq, which is on my to-buy list...

I preffer the more dub type of ambient..

for me:

Namaskar, Natural Born Chillers, Mountain High, Module 02, Gus Till - Electric Oceans

for me these are like the average mediodre full-on album/compilation. They seem like taking the safe way, tried and tested formulas, nothing surpising happening...

I really hope the psy/chill does not follow the way of full-on...           --- open the doors and let the music flood in ---

Selected ambient works II is one of my all time favorite ambient albums.
Go in the woods on a warm summernight with your mates, some magic mushrooms and a portable cd player playing this album softly in the background during the whole trip (put it on repeat)...I think then you will grasp the potential of this music

Exactly
me either dont like beatless chill, and also think ishq is diffrent. ill also mention "music for airports" because it was the first, and great music for sleeping.           Life is too short to eliminate all risks.

I think the first Asura cd is horrible and also the first Waterjuice. But going on the samples of their new 'Melbaphonics' I have ordered a copy. Seems like they got it right this time around

never got too exited about the fahrenheit series. actually there are quite a few mediocre chill albums out there. but really bad ones.. can't really think of even one           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

hehe yeah most of the time they are quite good but there are two definite albums tat I have a lot of truble making it through, Ott who after remixing Hallucinogen I fel was a bit of a let down, the first track is so perfect but from then on I find I struggle to make it theourgh the album, it just has never clicked at all with me, and Red Seal who on their album pop in a couple of nice tracks, mostly prereleased stuff, but a lot of it just doesn;t cut it with me, maybe becauseI'm not sucha huge fan of tradtiona dub styles... give me Ultimae, Ishq ad Hoots Records any day

Journeyman, you are most likely to enjoy the upcoming Celestial Dragon compilation.

Albums I received recently which go into my get rid of list:-
Gab Le Mar-night radio,
Ten Madison-milk.
Juno Reactor-?

What a shame as these artists used to make such great music and now seem to have lost the plot altogether.

As far as Aphex twin goes, selected Ambient works2 was a killer album for its time, ok not every track sounded nice, but thats his style, he is evil after all (well he looks it!!!)...and if anyone heard the Psymeditation album, well it contains obvious samples from this release.

I must add that generally the quality of chill out from 2004 was superb, and many artists are putting only the best into their releases. Keep it real and many thanks for your amazing creations.

I have no idea about the juno reactor one, though...

Though I saw you prefer it to our second one, Lost Eden. So what do you think about it? Awful, crappy, disgusting, ultra bad, cheesy, or maybe the whole?
But well, if I refer to your quick judgement about the first album of waterjuice without earing it that much: "I never really listen to their first CD, but this really sounds like a nice new step in a psychedelic direction. (01.28.2005)", maybe you have not really listened to our music yet too I hope...
