Detox,
A possibility I would raise is that most "top" artists these days are not making music they really love, but making music that will sell, hence when a formula for success is found, lots of people just fit themselves into the formula. The Astrix formula reigns now. And I predict it won't leave much behind it a few years from now. Music with no heart and love in it dies fast.
