Yeah, I liked sex style too. Beyond the sences is a bad immitation of his most fantastic song, the one he did for the thirteen crystal skulls. I just finished listening to the new Juno Reaktor album, astrix sounds even worse now. Not anyone can be Juno Reaktor. Sometimes not even Juno Reaktor can't be as good as Juno Reaktor. |

2 UIU: First of all I want to thank you for your post. It is not usual to see here real competent and solid opinion. I'm realy don't agree with you but you are quite right in facts. Yes, when Avi came out with Eye to Eye that was a bomb. It was magic tunes and real psychedelic trance. And along with it it became very pattern music. And all of those 2nd level isratrance musicians striked with tones of copies. New disc is not as original as an old was but it rather original of course. We can't wait from artist only top & original works. Not all artist are Infected Mushroom and in my eyes Asrtix is one of those who are close to Erez & Duvdev in talent level. Maybe his new disc is not such innovatory and brilliant as first one but it still great. I think that if you think over your mind more carefuly you would catch that your negative opinion triggered much more by your high and unreleased expectations then by real law quality or music wealth of Artcore. And your words about killing of psytrance... I'm realy don't think that it was your true opinion. I think you realize that trance (especially in its psychedelic part) is not interesting for 99% of Earth's population. So in general for most people it was and it is dead. I realy don't give a shit about what is alive or what is dead - it's only words and local negative point of view.
All that I know is that Avi Shmailov released two amaizing disks and his potential for me let me hope that here we have an artist who can in next couple of years reach the level of Infected Mushroom. Maybe he will not but I think he has all the chances. You know it is his only SECOND disc! And his is not far from 20 years old - he is real hot prospect for the future of trance music.

@ UIU, nice to see a different opinion here. I have not listened to the new album of Asrtix till yet. But I realy can imagine how it sounds like after your words, because you pointet out some special arrangement-aspects of the neo-fullon blueprint-structure, we all can recognize them, some of the are produced better and some of the are produced not so good; but same cup of tea at all.
Anyway, I think it is the same as in popmusic-genres: Take a trend and produce it until the last costumer has got enough from it. |

yes, Yes, YES!!!! Another great album by Astrix. I find that this time though he seems to have changed his style just a little, but well expected after his last release.
I'm sure everyone agrees that that Sex Style track is just awesome!!!  Has be bouncy around at home!!

ok, so yes the production is good nothing to say about that as expected, now the music is also good but its the same formula in all the tracks nice build-ups, and nice ideals (maybe sometimes it get a little cheezy for my taste)
my fav are: sex style, poision, and monster with infected.
all in all : 7/10

This album is for sure one of the best of 2004 ,really like all of the tracks ...All of them are blasting!
I can t stop to listen to it over and over.
But i agree with June for the cover,

Nice job here from avi. Really like almost all the tunes, perfect 4 the dancefloor, and sure one of the best albums of the year. My favs are monster!!!,artcore, poison and sex style. |

I was not contained from listening to this album. After the marvellous 'Coolio' cd single I expected much more, a change in style perhaps, and I was subsequently dissapointed.
