i used to love astral projection as well..just because it was one of the best and first doesnt mean it still is...things change the music changes we cant dance to the same songs forever..sure its nice to hear the classics here and there but after the same thing over and over its just not as psychedelic when its predictable..
anyway YA to darkthrone:)

I think we graduated from that type of music a while ago. The project did not have any evolution after a while. But, they rocked it while they did.
I also believe they had a great influence on how music later developed. I also believe awesome powerful melodic psy trance with depth and meaning is very hard to get. Not just pretty music, but sounds that fuel the imagination, rock the body and shakes your entire perception.
Darkness is great, I love it to death myself. I think we are living the best dark music can offer us  But, darkness has to be counterbalanced by light. And good powerful (When i mean powerful I mean like a freight train on the edge) bright music with meaning is... I said it above, difficult to find.
So Alien, could you send me a message... Something good is brewing on Earth and I need to communicate with you.

Sometimes we tend to criticize a little too much. But we can do it nicely if we want:)
Lets face it 'Amen' was disapointing. I was really looking forward to it when it was coming out, but WAS disapointed. Does that mean i write off Astral Projection??HELL NO!
Individuals have a nature of coming back and proving EVERYBODY wrong.

The Astral crew will come back from their lows and hit us so hard with their new/old sounds, the sounds that evolved Goa trance,the melody, the rythmic tunes, the simple basslines, MAHADEVA!!(As Uncle Bob said)
Maybe they will evolve into more clubby, hard, progressive music(arent they doing that already??) and will RATHER be happy entertaining a completely new set of crowds(non-psy) than freaks, hippies and psytrancers.
Who knows??
I am sure the party will be great!!
LONG LIVE ASTRAL PROJECTION!!
Some will enjoy, some will cry and the rest will forever criticize!!

btw, Sho, speaking of Darkthrone, their frontman Nocturno Culto has been turned on to trance lately, so stay tuned... we could be hearing some brutal shit coming out of Norway soon! |

Shivma, it is a fact Astral @ this point in time has not inspired many. we can talk and write on stone about the past or try to predict the future, but as for the present Astral has not projected anything worth discussing. I respect them as artists, but that is that. |

perhaps a little off subject but...
it's incredible how well black metal and dark psytrance mix... the really atmospheric black metal from Russia works very well. Xasthur is especially good. and Veles the Italian hate masters.Also, Leviathan from San Fransisco. Too bad most of the black metal scene is such racist pricks...

its very true, if you listen to some mortiis or some wongraven and then listen to infecteds classical mushroom you will be sure that erez must be into black metal and ambient, however i once had a chance to ask erez this myself and he said he did enjoy ambient but nothing black metal. anyways i think this thread is dead

Have fun at this one dudes.........I'm not coming, cause I'd rather stay at home listening to some Xenomorph/Grapes of Wrath/Digital Talk, than come there to listen to some drum'n'bass and hard house and Astral......
