i mean comon people... tye dye, drugs. barefoot .. and many many more...

We still bathe on occasion (at least most of us), so I think that makes us *not* hippies. 
Although I actually used to make my own tie-dyed stuff when I was 19 or 20....scary.

he he krelm...  nope no hygiene issues here either... i like to bath... and i dont get the dancing barefoot thing.... i struggle with roots and ditches and rocks with my shoes on, i dont see how enjoyable it is to concentrate even harder so as not to end up with an open wound... |

After seeing the state of the dancefloor at several festivals last summer, I am almost afraid to walk around without steel-toed army boots.

GEM_37, no tye-dye amongst my clothing, even though I was a raver when I was 15, wIth appropriate orange clothing, blue hair. I used to own a shiva shirt as well. But just to look cool, didnt even know shiva was, really.
But if you saw me now, I look like every mother-in-laws dream, even cut my hair short a couple of month ago.
And Krelm, I lost my shoes on the first day of the Fusion Festival last year, and walked around barefoot for 4 days, even at night. Had some naaasty glass splinters afterwards in my foot. Ouch!!

Well I shower every morning, don't have dreadlocks, don't dance around bonfires at Halloween and enjoy going to "sanitised" house and techno nights as well as psy parties I'm also not into the whole "psy trance is the new world religion" crap. I think some of the websites out there can take the music a little too seriously, which is a shame as it must be off-putting for folk who just like the music.
Having said that, whenever in India I tend to soak up the lazy atmosphere and become a bit more hippie for a few weeks, but then most people do that when they're in Goa.

I need a bath everyday to feel myself, even in festivals,
I've got loads of hindu realted stuff, but that doesn't make me a hippy at all
I normally dress quite colourfull, but thats just because it the way I feel, again nothing to do with hippies...
And also, love to dance barefoot, and in the summer time I spend always the hole summer with sandals without putting shoes once (but thats just because Im on vacation, its really hot, and it much more confortable), again, nothing to do with the hippy thing.
Last year in a Goa Gil party I saw this girl dancing in the dancefloor, too beautifull to believe, a blond with rastas, dancing apart from the rest, the sun had just arrived, and she was dancing this melodic tunes like in slow motion on her own, it was a great scenario... This blessed moment watching her lasted for some minutes, until she decided to put her arms up, revealing a deep jungle in her armpits... man that totally putted me off...Its one of those images I'll have recorded for life, lollllll 
No hairy girls thanks!

gem...maybe we are a new kind of hippie...we use psycedelics we dance barefoot we go to camp out music gatherings etc. BUT beeing the new hippie we improved...we shower!!! we make music on copmputers!!! we talk thru a satalite and we dont really dig the hairy chink thing
or maybe we are all magic carrots trying to take over the world with our special "lazer blasters"
have a nice TRIP.

hey, thanks for the pic Gem, thats cleared now, lol, no I don't have any...
and yes djnomolos, I think we agree with u, hippies r gone, but there is a new thing now, wich is quite similar apart from the things u mentioned hehe
We're still a bunch of ppl spreding a message of love and unity, promoting nature, wanting peace for the world, spending our days making critics about the society, while sitting in the couch all day rolling fat ones and not really doing much about it...!
hehe, I'm not such a party goer as I used to be, now I take psy in a more personal way, and try more to fit the system hehe, but I could definetelly fit that group a couple of years ago
