I am happy when the day comes and people who go to parties stop comparing themselves to people of the past. (hippies etc)
You might be a hippy for any reason. You might like incense or having long hair or being vegetarian, all the outside stuff that hippies are famous for relates to almost everyone on the planet. My mum has a Grateful Dead LP, "Mum, are you a Hippie?" Your neighbour might meditate... "Do you meditate 'cause youre a hippie?" No they probably are not.
We can not be the new age hippies. Our understanding of the outside world has changed so much, and us kids are over flowing with modern information that the old hippies did not have, every baby born is more intelligent now, we have awareness on a different scale than before. If you choose to see.
I also think that hippies were not protesting as much as you might believe... i think when i see protests today with half a million people of different faces and a 95 yr old woman holding a sign that says "anti war" the world is getting better in some small way.
I also think it is interesting that most of you stereo type yourselves by saying you are nu age hippies... i find stereo types inaccurate,..
just b what you are, maybe you will start a revolution and create your own legend |

I myself am a walking contradiction.
I used to be a 'somewhat known black metal singer', I wore corpse paint with blood flowing out of my mouth, and screeched out satanic verses (which I still love) in front of sell out crowds at places like our infamous 'hollywood whiskey a-go-go'...
my heart and soul is pure psytrance in all its forms, and hell yes, tye dye still kicks ass!

If u ask if we are hippies by look, than the answer will be some, but i do think that new-hippies is the right way to call trancers...
it's not in the way you dress up, the way you talk, or the way you walk.... it's all in your mind...
hippies (the original ones) believed in peace and comfort, and that we can all leave together in a beautiful harmony, and that's exacly what u can find in any party, if the crowd is right, of course....
I do feel like i was born in the wrong decade, but if that's all i've got, i'll do all i can with it!
