yeah, that's what I thought... guess I'll have to rethink my wish list then... what audio interfaces are you guys using? (just out of curiosity)

have checked silent way and think it's one of the best tips that's floating around this site, that thing can get a modular setup going in no time, but guess I need those connections, uh?

thing is, I'm thinking going the Multiface 2 way with the main rig, and would like some usb interface for the laptop, since most of them don't come with firewire any longer, but that makes two interfaces instead of one... heck, when you need to buy a bunch of stuff until you get to the part you want kind of thing XD...

Focusrite Saffire user here. Got the first grey one. Have ES-4 on order, will report back on how I get on with things when I get enough modules to process my external synths through the modular.

Should be able to jack upthe headphone output from the slim, i
(Internal setting)through a mooger,

Get ready for wiggly knobs, euroracks changed abit since the dopfer days, all the pots feel loose, but apparently thats a good thing and aids the lifespan of the solder on the pcbs,

Took me a while to get used to them , but now its not even an issue           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

Just dropping by to say that, after reading klippel's post on 1st page, I ordered a Shruhi-1 from MI and I'm absolutely loving it.

Although it's hybrid digital/analog it completely amazes me on the rich character it has and the possibilities it offers for such a little box.

Just want to say thanks to klippel for letting me know about MI and wanted to ask how's the Ambika working ? Seriously thinking about getting one... or 2 more shruthis for polychain !

To analog or to not analog is the question... ?

Personally I've been checking, reading, and testing lots of synths. Hardwares and softwares.

One day I bought myself a Moog Voyager... The machine was as inspiring as the name enhances it. On top of this I invested in nearly all the Moogerfoogers... This little setup costed me over 5000€. Was it worth it? Yes: if you live for the music! No: if you are not thinking ambitious...

I remember tweeking the moogs filter for the first time. It was a revelation! Don't get me wrong, software is really good to but to be honest I hear to much cheap digital sounds these days on the records. I mean for example: tweaking a ring modulator (moogerfooger) vs a ring modulator in ableton... you get the feeling that you want to sell ableton

I have been checking around many great artists for years. Looked for there gear list. For me software feels a bit like a plastic toy. But I use it to because I don't have a million dollars to spend.

I always looked to sound in a way it starts with a source: this could be your high end synths. Then if there is more budget to burn you can buy an analog EQ or Effects and compression or preamp and not to forget: A high end AD/DA converter. I have an M-audio ozonic with ASIO sound card. I resently tested an UAD Apollo. And fu*/ that thing sound better!

Study alot... And know good what your budjet is in the next coming years. You wil never want to stop buying new high end stuff one's you worked with it.

I believe there is not one synth or any other component (eq, delay,... that can do the whole job.

Just make A choice.

Buy A minibrute or little phatty or korg ms 20 or...

Just compare... for example a moog doesn't have a high pass filter... others have...
