Dear all,

A global revolution in the music industry was dramatically highlighted yesterday as the world's biggest online music store celebrated its billionth song download......(read more)

And I am still wondering, why the "psy" label managers are still blaming the people/consumers that they do not buy CDs!

INNOVATE or DIE !

Nothing more to add

Perhaps, when one day there will be an online shop that will sell psy for a rational price ie 1$ for mp3 and 1.5$ for loseless file. Till then the "industry" will continue to dig it's grave and weep all the way through by selling them for twice and triple as much.
Wake up! This article should be printed and read daily by the label owners.          Everyone in the world is doing something without me

what about the weight of the human mind !!!!!

i'll go with this one. bank balances, credit cards, bills...Not much of a brain left to keep a proper balance and divide the spirit from the matterialistic way of life. Who's the master of pupets anyway? Bit offtopic sorry. Not enough sugar in my cofee and a cloudy day, makes me bit of depressed. I'd rather listen to some music before posting...mp3 downloading files...depeche mode's only when i lose my self - cris micali rmx right click...play : Goodmorning to all           fate has it...

"In addition to receiving the track, Alex has received an iMac computer, 10 iPods and a $10,000 (£5,700) gift card for the iTunes store from Apple."

It was a good download

Dear Zimon Post Forced,

1 BILLION of downloads via iTunes, proves that if the consumers can get what they want INSTANTLY and in a reasonable price (0.99$) then they BUY!

Personally, almost all of my music i purchase it via iTunes. I buy from there becasue the service is instant and great (i don't promote iTunes, i just state my personal experience)

Kind Regards

yea britney spears tunes

I think its more iTunes that dont want psy trance, not the labels that don't want to sell on itunes.

I dont understand how anyone can listen to mp3, its just horrible... But at same time ppl listen to music on computer speakers so they don't hear much of a difference, anyway i think that when it comes to psy, labels just have a hard time getting contracts with mp3 selling website's.

Psysounds.com started in November 2005 and there are more labels from the psyscene offering their music digitally since 2004.
Better look around and support us instead of shouting 'INNOVATE or DIE'.
The majority still wants to buy a hard copy and not the digital file allthough we give the artwork with the album.
We innovate and pay on top of this service and still people think we do nothing. We want to stay independent that is why we don't offer our music through Itunes or other big commercial sites, but we need your support to keep on going. All trackprice @ Psysounds.com are max. € 1,10 for mp3 and flac. Albums go from € 7,60 to € 10,00.
Hope to see you there and buy our music and support the artists.           www.ajana-records.com

I long for the day we can buy music directly from the artist in this way, rather than having to go through iTunes or whatever.           "One nation under a groove".

Nice site but:
A: I still insist that if Britney can be sold for 1$ there's no way that Psy will be sold for more.
B: Can't find anything there that suits my taste.
C: How much of this really goes to the artist?          Everyone in the world is doing something without me

A: I still insist that if Britney can be sold for 1$ there's no way that Psy will be sold for more. You pay $ 1 for a Itune track with low quality and digital right management?
B: Can't find anything there that suits my taste.
C: How much of this really goes to the artist?

A: Funny to compare Britney with Psy, I don't get it. You ask for prices between 1 and 1.50 and this is what we offer. We can also ask $ 1 for a low quality file with digital right managment.
B: We can not suit everybody taste, but this is not the topic as there are more labels selling their music online
C: What does it matter to you how much goes to the artist? Do you ask yourself this when you buy a cd? You want low prices so the artists and the label get nothing? We share all our profit on a 50% basis.

We lose only money to make this service avaiable to music lovers and I bet most psylabels can state this.
Buying directly from artists is allready possible, like Electrypnose f.i. But I don't think artists have the money and time to set this up.
We could use more support instead of easy consumer criticts. Give us more feedback so we can use it and serve you better.

It's funny to compare because even on the more serious market they ask for less, and they decided earlier to go with the flow. Whereas in the psy-scene people are still busy throwing mud and accusing each other once the issue rises. All i'm asking for is a little less price than what Psyshop asks for. They ask 13$ for a CD? I guess it's ok to ask 10$ for the digital version (loseless). Why? Because there's no distribution fee, no cover fee and more. Fair, right? Which brings me to 10$ an album or 1$ a track. Fair? Good. Now why do i go to this site you posted and i see 1.1 euro? It's almost 50% more.
I'm sure you are losing your money on it. Sell it for 1$ and if the music you sell is good enough people will buy. I know i will.
Till then we have these solutions which i find ridiculously high:
http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1740/twisted1ku.jpg
C: Yes, when i buy, i think about the artist. That's why i rarely buy stuff from the big labels and try to buy only from the small ones or the ones that are being run by artists themselves. Like Twisted, Zenon, Iboga and more.

The digital distribution of music is certainly getting bigger and bigger. Take for instance this info from the latest newsletter from Iboga:

You will from now on find the Iboga catalogue available as MP3s on 3beatdigital.com and releaserecords.com
Also we are in the progress of compiling the first exclusive MP3 compilation with new tracks from James Monro, Liquid Soul, Perfect Stranger, Emok, Reefer Decree and more……..The CD will be available in the beginning of March on Beatport.com and Iboga.dk

An interesting development in my opinion.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
