Spyros, it seems consensual that this was a weird party… but you can’t loose heart… just remember the old faith and stay high.
If the scene is attracting energy that is disruptive to Psychedelia then we just have to make sure our parties go underground to keep away the nuisance.
Peace, love and tolerance is all good and necessary but that does not mean we put up with bestiality.
Thank you and Andy and everyone who helped make the party happen.

This party did have an element of discombobulation to it. Being at the front of the dance floor most of the time, i generally only see a few regulars and the performers. But even in this small variable i always see girls getting groped or some random drunk assshole trying to freak them. Normally after he leaves i try to cheer the girl up with a funny comment like- "Mr charming huh?" or something like that. I honestly dont ever see it go to a point where i felt like i had to step in.
Some random drunk ass hairy midget guy kick me in the leg on the dance floor, he just looked at me and walked away. I laughed and kept dancing.
what was i gonna do, really.
I would be honored to do my part in helping, and so would all the real people. JUST LET US KNOW HOW. I am sure theres no easy way to straight deny these people access.
Maybe just post the big parties on isratrance. Not on psytribe (or the other way around) Post some ENFORCED rules!!! Anyone who breaks them with prior knowledge of the rules, throw them out and write down the type of & car license plate number. So they can never come back. As soon as that happens those other people who break the rules will decide its not worth it to go, or to break the rules.
I admit I have been guilty of the balloon on the floor twice in my 4 years. I had no idea it was that frowned upon. I wont ever do it again, and i apologize.
O.k now that were past the negative...
Penta ripped some shit up, he may have been a little high he still kicked royal f-in ass.
I missed most of pleidians and etnica, lost in world of bliss, but upon my return eduardo kicked ass, i missed Spyros from to much socializing, Kon Flux put a freakin cosmic hole in my brain, and barakuda brought me home in his elegant style.
To you all christine, justin "cam", connor, turtle, blake, wendyJ, to psytribe, everyone else i ran into, met, names i cant remember, and people i have yet to meet, From Orange County This is me saying... YYYAAAaaarrggghhh matey Yargh.

PEACE.

And hell I have been writing all day here...sorry to the people who are sick of me speaking.....

to add.........The party to me was phenomenal. I had an old buddy from the Navy to hang out with and a new friend I met through him that I had a blast with........and in the morning, hung out with my brothers from psytribe, who as always, show me love.......and to Aumi, thanks for the Rip it and Vodka....wow, that hit the spot in the morning...

I am speechless about this party......some people showed me what they are all about genuinely and for that I am thankful that it ended any confusion I had. Things are crystal at this point. thanks for that.

the DJ's like KonFlux who made me think they were bringing it down a notch only to slam the beautiful aggression into the ground......wow...that opening was great.....and to all the psytribe DJ's especially, you guys never cease to amaze me...the international acts were good, but the SF crew stole the show of the non psytribe DJs......Parus and Penta killed it and the russian energy flowed into the morning when we celebrated it with our vodka toast....all in all everything fell in place....much love to the true and even more love to those who don't get it. only through our love (which may include a kick in the ass here and there) will they realize the power and meaning of what we have come to love...............

<<never thought it was a good idea to promote these parties. this is a scene where those who need to be there go there and those who don't never come back or return when they are ready. the growth will happen gradually and naturally by word of mouth.>>

Word!

There are other scenes around that are closely related to us that don't do any promotion and are ONLY word of mouth. And some of them have survived far longer then most party scenes I have known. They are not "exclusive" - only "reclusive".

I have seen many genres of music and many party scenes come and go over the years and they usually follow a similar pattern. First, a few friends explore something new and they share it with their friends who like it because it is something new. Then word gets around and lot's of people want to join in. Then the masses join who want to be part of something that everyone else is a part of and the scene slowly dies out because it is no longer the cool underground scene it once was and then a few friends take the music in a new direction and the cycle repeats itself.

I saw many communes that never survived the first idealic year or two. Those that survived took drastic steps to control their destiny.

What makes societies, communes, and party scenes work is a membership that shares the same ideals and similar values. What breaks them down is when disimilar values are allowed in.

What I absolutely love about the Psy Trance scene is it's open acceptance of any culture, age group, sexual orientation, and political views. The thing that we all have in common is this value of acceptance and respect for others. If you don't have that, then you don't belong - and I'm perfectly ok with that! Exclusiveness based on an interest I don't go for.

Anyway, my heart goes our to Spyros and Andy and Trevor and all the rest of the wonderful people that put so much effort into creating these events for us. I am sad that there are those that don't respect this scene and yet still come. I am sad that my good friends from SF had to witness this. I am glad that once again, I got to share my love with so many of the people I care for most in this world.

In conclusion, it is time to take steps to protect what we have going from those that would destroy it. I'm not suggesting battle or confrontation - only controlled avoidance.

...and we will survive.

Peace and love to you all!

do be honest with you,we are the worst promoters out there....
we barely hand out 500 flyers, mostly at our weekly,so i dont think we over expose any events...
i think the ranch brings these nontrancers out..
other events get booked at the ranch through out the year, many raves, and i thimk these people come to the ranch not knowing who promotes the event...
i think a new location(which is sad) would help!
thats the hard part, finding a place like the ranch...
not many places out there,or properety owners that would accomidate us like the ranch.
we will think of something,we always do!!!!!!

Spyro, whats up brotha? Dont let these scum bags rain on your partys. I'm sure it won't happen again. I know the feeling of bad vibes at a party but by everybody pulling together all those motherfudgers will get the hell out of dodge@@!:) Dont worry my brothers, you guys worked to hard to let a bunch of losers rain on your parade, like I said earlier in the post these are just little obsticles that can be removed. The only thing that I'm worried about is that the security that you guys are planning on hiring, just make sure they don't bug out the people that much. Other then that your o.k. Damn Spyro I wish I was there to hear your set, from what I've been reading, you blew them away!! Bravo bro bravo!! Talk to ya soon, peace to all!!

I would say that of all the parties we have done, I did very little to help this time other than set up. It has been such a wonderful ride to be doing these parties for all these years and to see the progress. The first local motion we did was so small and free, I might add. Freaking Andy and Spyros are all about the music. The are all about seeing you people have fun. I can remember so many times watching the lights (or lack of lights) roll in at night and getting excited that we were going to hit our goal of breaking even. Sometimes we did, sometimes we didn't. We usually had more fun when we lost just for the fact that were just like "f*** it!" we better have some fun cause that is all the payback we are going to get!!!!

Now the parties have gotten really big. The whole set-up for this party was so nice. The stage was magnificient. Really nice you guys. Best stage yet!

Regarding, people going up on the stage, it is so freaking ridiculous. I mean, it is one thing to come up to the artist to shake their hand or something quick but to get up on stage and interrupt things just to be seen, is pathetic. Pissing on the speakers? I wish Spyros had connected...glad Dai stopped it.

I need to say this. Quit complaining about other peoples music. I grew up in rural Ohio. In the early eighties, I started to listen to rap music. I was in middle school and then high school. At that time, white folks just didn't listen to rap. I was always asked why I listen to that "nigger music" or I was called nigger lover because of it. It was the kind of place that if you don't where a John Deere hat, blue jeans and a flannel shirt, then you were a "faggot" for being different.

From this experience, I try not to be like those f***ers. Criticizing other peoples music is just a way of trying to make your own damn tastes seem ok. It is just plain insecurity that causes it. Get over it. And please do it soon.

The whole point of psytrance is acceptance, I thought. What is psytrance and what is not? Really irrelevant if you ask me. It is irrelevant even if you don't ask me. 5 years ago, I for the life of me, cannot remember anybody complaining about this style or that style. So what is the deal today?

I can't remember the last time that I played the same time and same style two parties in a row. To me, finding the good in all those types is really important. I guess enough said.

We will figure out what to do about the idiots that come and mess it up for people. We have the crew to do that well enough.

I am glad that people had a good time.

I must also add that Bodhi's freaking ambient music is the bomb. Really surprised me to hear that fluffiness floating around the air. He definitely needs to get that stuff on a compilation, soon.

Another thing that I must add, I was in my car during Parus and Manny's set. I could here them both playing at the same time. Was kind of cool, actually. Deep rolling dark beats to high melodic chill out. Very cool combo!!!!

Love and peace to all who love peace and love.

I wasn't there for this one, but I have been for many others and it's sad to read about such disresepect for the equipment, people, and land that makes these parties so special and unique.

I simply love the fact that people like christine and many others i'm sure take it upon themselves to pick up around the dance floor, solve a problem, or just do something generally good for the place that may often go completely un-noticed.

That confirms to me what i already knew: the beautiful people associated with these events and our genre in particular far outnumber the self-absorbed troublemaking fair weather party goers and i'm certain that something good will come out of these discussions.

The nucleus of our scene is far too committed, compassionate, and devoted to overlook those kinds of disturbances.

Ohh, this thread is LONG!
Well, I will add to it:

Dear Psytribers(eSSS)
thank for the wonderful party!

I was very lucky to miss all the unpleasantries. i was happy to be there with my very good friends, and to feel the spring and dance.
Granted, the music in the morning was a bit silly, and so was a part of the crowd . But then, it was a good time to STARE around and it was fun as well.
And, then, psytribe resident dj's totally saved the day, as they always do, indeed.

I am really glad this party happened.

Sounded like a great line up, and im sure the artists prevailed.

But i am VERY shocked to see all the bad vibes and attitudes at this party, Loud drug dealers(talk about marketing), Female gropers and straight up assholes...

I was gonna fly over to L.A. for the party but ticket prices where to much on short notice. But if i had went im sure i would be totally shocked with the "rude offenders" Cause in portugal that is the last thing that is on my mind at partys or even in my sight.. And where thousands at partys, wich makes me very grateful that we have such a wonderfull scene there, without the disrespect.

Im sorry for all you L.A. psyppl to have this happen to you, and yes, Since its obviosly necessary professional security does help alot. personally to myself it would be devistating to party amongst these bad vibes.

Ill try to make it to an event and spread the plur psytrance vibe with u nice ppl of L.A.

BUt then again I am a "Portuguese Speaker"

I know probably wasnt ment to to Portuguese ppl of portugal, but i think genralising a crowd over the language is pretty rude in my opinion..

No one would like if i came here and Said how many americans(wich i am one as well) had to be thrown out of boom festival 2004 cause of disrespect. for example.. So that atitude isnt plur to begin with, as it obviosly offends ppl Wich crosses out the R

Keep it safe keep it plur

nooo please dont change the location! the ranch is sooo beautiful, with the stars spread out like a tapestry at night and the sun shining down upon all of us thru the mountains during the day.. its heavenly! haha but i guess if you guys (psytribe) found a place like the ranch to begin with, you will definately find a new location which is as divine and beautiful ! booooom!

oh also i think most of the 'non-psy' crowd (d assholes, groppers, etc.) that came there this weekend, came there more as an afterparty, because there was a candy-rave happening downtown, so after that finished i guess they all found about the ranch thru word of mouth and headed up there..thats what we heard from a few people atleast....inspite of this though there was still a strong positive vibe throughout, which is what kept me going. thank u psytribe
