well....first of all , if it appears right now in the "mafia" scene , it is just because i 've decided two or three weeks ago to "give" it to some "trustable" people who anyway will give it...but it is still ok , it is now released in one week...so.....
about the reviews , i 'll try to do one myself , like if it was not mine....after all , i am the one who know the tracks better than anyone no?
so let s go for it......you ll tlel me later if you are sharing my point of view....
1- ARIES :
Ok , this is the next "hit"....every time that this one was played , (strangely at the last of the live act....)it kicked the dancefloor....it is of course because of the guitar , but maybe because also of the melody which is above the guitar in the first part of the track....and of course , i don t speak about the guitar "solo" of the end......
2 - TAURUS :
This one was made to fit to the sign more than to be "dancefloor"...which means that the first part is quite "shanti" , with a straight bassline , symbolizing the way the taurus stay on "earth"...and the final part to translate the way the taurus gets angry....he is just running in front of him....
3 - GEMINI :
The concept of this sign was to divide two parts of course , but with the same "base"....which was translated by doing the first part in triplets and the second one , with the same sounds , scales and even melodies , but in a 4/4 regular tempo....actually , i really love the first part , and the second part , after a lot of listening , sounds a bit "too violent" compare to what i wanted to do , but i see here that some people prefer this part , so it is cool...ehhehe
4 - CANCER :
I know already that this track will divide the people....this is actually the most melodic track i 've ever did i think...a bit too much , even for my taste , but the cancer is the dreamer sign , in the positive way , so i had to do a beautiful one....the melody itself who starts in the break will remind to a lot of people the "time simulation" track of my last album ....track who was already or loved or hated......
5 - LEO :
this is actually my own sign , and that is maybe why it was so hard for me to make...i didn t want a "dark" one , as i didn t want a "melodic" neither....i think i stayed in the middle , with the idea that leo is a fire sign , so it should be powerfull....
6 - VIRGO :
One of my favorite...it is a very good collaboration that we have done with Nomad , the sound is really clear , the mix is exactly as i wanted.....now , of course , it depends on your taste , but i would say this is in my top three for this album....
7 - LIBRA :
This is really my favorite one...i wanted to focus on the fact that the libra has also two personnalities , but not like the gemini....i wanted two completly different parts...i wouldn t say that the first part is "dark" as i 've wrote somewhere , but more deep and mysterious...with a lot of "stereo" effects (listen this one in the headphones...)of course , from left to right....like the balance...and the second part is typically a talamasca ending like some would say , but i am really happy with it , specially with the beautiful last kind of flute sound.....
8 - SCORPIO :
For sure i was influenced on this one by the fact that Absolum was scorpio...so as you can guess , it is quite "agressive"....but it fits to the sign no???anyway , this is the exact opposite of the cancer track....
9 - SAGITTARIUS :
yes , this one was already around from the dat mafia , because i played one year ago in mexico and some "nice" people recorded the all live act....and i don t know what to say except that is it another full on one who work a lot on the dance floors....
10 - CAPRICORN :
i knew when i made this one , that it would surprise the people who knows what i am doing generally....but the reason why i decided to do this "concept" album was also to find an "excuse" to do something else than the usual full on morning....
11 - AQUARIUS :
This is the "atmospheric" track , with a lot of pads....it was very cool to make , because it changed a bit and i knew from the beginning that i didn t want any "nizhonot" for this one...that s why the end is not "kicking"....again , i wanted to fit with the sign....
12 - PISCES :
Believe me or not , this one was the most complicated to do for me!!!!i didn t stop to make and to erase any sequence i was doing....i had a lot of problem to fit with the idea that i wanted to make , which was for this sign to "follow the flow" without surprises....in a progressive way...which i am not used to do....but i will make more.....
so in the end , i don t know how it sounds , i am of course influenced by the fact i made them.....and actually , to answer someone upper , i don t believe in astrology......but it didn t matter so much , because that you believe it or not , there is still diferences between signs....so i compared every signs between them just to see which one will be more groovy , or more full on , or more melodic , or more minimal.....the goal for me was to make 12 different tracks....and if you listen cancer , scorpio , aries and capricorn for exemple , you ll maybe get the idea.......
Anyway , thanks to all the ones who support my work , and even to the others , who sometime (not everytime , come on....)are saying constructive staf that i always consider..... |

I really liked the way you reviewd this album, and just because of this excelent review, I will give it a shot (although everybody knows I'm not the full on type).

Cedric, I like the fact you reviewed your own material in a biased yet professional manner.... I hope this is a beggining of a trend where artists review their own albums! good luck with it.

ouah...polynesian lion is so old......and we were three people in that time......so let s say cancer is the most melodic i did alone......and even polynesian lion didn t have this BIG transpose......but if we talk about the most fluffy , what about "believe"???i've listen to it again and actually , i am ashamed of it......but ok , this is 6 years old now.....polynesian lion was the second talamasca ever made......1996.....i really hope my production sounds better......you ll tell me........
And about the fact that artist reviews their own albums in a forum , you know the story......some people will say it is very good because the artist is connected with the people and pay attention to what they say , and some others will say that it is just another way to get promotion......well.....the ones who know me a bit personnaly knows that anyway i don t care so much about the ones who are always complaining.......

Cool Cedric! Can hardly wait to buy the disc. From the samples that I've heard, it sounds great, but I can't stop listening to the samlple of Virgo, it sounds amazing!!! I'll see you at Vision Quest Mexico in two weeks!!! A bien tôt! |

The fact that i liked most about this review is that...some one has been patient enough to explain the 'theme ' of their music..

Hey Cedric! I wanted to open this topic...
so, here you can check my opinion about Zodiac...though i think you reviewed very well
Aries: for sure it's one of the biggest hits from the album, its very phat, really a dancefloor burner, that ancient, goaish melody is very good in it and when the guitar riffs in everyone go crazy!!! shouting guaranteed (tm) headbanger track!
Taurus: it starts very relaxed and mysterius ( no, not the force ) and 2 mins before the end it bloooooows!
Gemini: this is the two parts track first one is a slower, sounds like this sign is thinking a lot, second one is the more dancefloor oriented minutes, but don't work for me.
Cancer: wooowooowooo!!! "this is the fluffiest track i've ever made"...oh yes, it's a REALLY beautifull track!!!! it brought me so many good memories back from many years with that goa melodies in the end so made tears in my eyes, but the last melody, which is toooo fluffy for even me like most of the tracks it starts slowly, not so full on but after 4 mins you ll fly to another state of mind....
Leo: haha, no, this one isnt starting slowly, its a full on, you won't escape! one of the phatest track on the album, there is no relaxing, sorry, you have to move your ass...
Virgo: this is a nice song, no balagan, but very happy, this track is smiling to you...10 am in the morning, hey dj, play that song!
Libra: it' s a talamasca track, he couldnt deny it
Scorpio: hehe, this is my sign and it's crazy!!! metallic, acidic, crazy...it's me! same as leo, there is no time to sit down! but don't say it's aggressive, it's not trash metal, it's rather energetic!!!
Sagittarius: it's a very good dancefloor track.
Capricorn: dolphin's speaks , some clubby touches, nice one
Aquarius: talamasca style, lots of effects with an easy but nice melody in the end, a summertrack ll be for sure!
Psices: the last 12th, track, it's chilled, more progressive style, very intimate and it flows very smooth, very good ending.
For sure, this album is the next step for Talamasca in musicality and in production quality also. I hope i ll get the final cd soon and then i can see it as a whole. I'm sure Cedric had headaches to do 12 different tracks which it into signs, but i think he did a smashing great job!!! one of the best album in this year!!!

Innovative Cedric as always.

I guess this is another proof again that shows us how professional the concept of the zodiac is. It is going to revolutionize the concept of psychdelik albums and i hope that others will follow...

Well i just wanted to add that in the last year i didn't bother to hear to much of the French style. It's all sounded to much and in some manned outdated. But last week i heard "Frenchman in Tokyo" and it kinda kicked my ass hardly. It's very oldschool in a way but totally in the right way and vibe. And i just can't stop playing it. I hope that this Talamasca album will be as good.

aries is my sign and the way ,it has been made
i think the guitaring has alot of change in it not like
usual heavy guitaring ,nice album overall ,very good sound and quality bro............
keep it up cedric ,ure french style is really nice to listen too cause its not too melodic nor too dark just perfect to listen to in the morning or night.....ure baseline kicks asssssss .............
