Phone ringing,Hercules on the other line reminding me of our meeting tonight and shouting to bring him the post stamps that i have for his collection (something that i never did by the way lol) so here i am with ZMA Records 14th release 
Connected is a various artists collection compiled by Dj Oli of M.O.S and Hinz & Kunz.Looking at the tracklist i didnt knew any of the names except M.O.S and Spectral Skunk who is by the way a member of this forum,i was sure though after having heard of ZMA Records last release,A Step Beyond,and having discovered through it Sun Control Species that make very good music,that this one would not dissapoint me at all.
So lets press play...

Review
01)Doctor Disco starts with an atmospheric intro and after that it becomes more funky with its amazing melody and percussions.I also fancy those nice synth sounds that fit perfectly into the track.In the 4th minute we have a small pause for 30 seconds and then here we go again with the same great melody and synth sounds until the end of the track.Doctor Disco is the kind of proggy music that i like and i have the feeling that the opposite sex will love this one because it is melodic and groovy at the same time.
02)Convolution is a much more powerfull track by our friend Spectral Skunk who is obviously inspired by Skazi music while making this one.Many sounds in here sound similar with the ones that the Israeli artist uses while making his music though Roberto uses them much better in my opinion and they sound much more friendly to my ears also.This is a very good track to warm up the people in the dancefloor before a full on set.I am sure that you will enjoy this one.
03)This is an absofuckinglutely amazing full on track that can blow up every dancefloor around the world.After listening to this track for 3 times i opened the cd booklet to check out to whom this one belongs.To my total surprise i found out that Assymetric Duty Ratio is produced by two greek guys named George Exarhos and Yiannis Alexandropoulos also known as The Higher Human Form.This is the best Greek track i have ever heard along with Wizzy Noise track Different Thought released recently on Spun Records.An excellent piece of work that will sure be on my top ten next month.Hercules please give us more info concerning these two guys and their future releases otherwise forget about the post stamps that i have for your collection 
04)I found the M.O.S track very average.It has a high production quality and its powerfull enough for people to dance with it on the dancefloor but its not something special for home listening.Not bad,not good,just average.
05)In the first minute the Morja track reminded me of Synthetic older tracks like Cosmos 99.Unfortunely the rest of the track wasnt what i expected not to mention the screaming Tarzan silly sample that ruins just everything somewhere in the 3rd minute.Some nice happy mood sounds afterwards but thats just it.I didnt spend much time on this one.
06)White Sand has a very nice atmospheric introduction in the first minute but the rest of the track is just not my style.I fancied the track also a little from 5.40 to 6.40 but as i said this is not my cup of tea.People that are more into this kind of music will for sure like this one more than i did.
07)Twisted Kingdom is the second track of Oxyd in this compilation after the collaboration with Dj Oli in Doctor Disco.
This is more deep and atmospheric and i very much enjoyed it while listening to it in the early morning hours.This is a very nice track strictly for home listening and i am looking forward to Oxyd future releases.Very nice tune.
08)Well in my humble opinion Shiatsu Express is the worst track in this compilation.It sounded too repetitive to me not to mention the endless percussions throughout the whole track.I am not a big percussions fan as you might have already guessed but for those that dont share the same tastes as i do in music then this track might seem interesting to them.I skipped this one really fast.
09)Finnaly we have Searching that is what i call an amazing happy melodic morning tune ideal to listen to while watching the sunrise.This is the best track in this compilation along with Assymetric Duty Ratio from The Higher Human Form guys.This is the best track to end a party in the morning and to make sure that everybody will leave the place satisfied with a big smile on their faces.Great tune,great happy atmosphere,great melodies.Thumbs up!!!
Connected is by far the best compilation i have ever heard from a Greek label.The production quality in most of the tracks is of the highest standards and Dj Oli that compiled this one along with Hercules the founder of ZMA Records introduce us to some new and very talented artists like Oxyd and The Higher Human Form.This cd features both progressive and full on material so no matter your style this is a very good buy for everyone.
My favorite tracks are 1,3(!),7 and 9(!)
I will rate this compilation 7/10

Hercules told me that the cd would appear yesterday on the net shops so soon it will be available everywhere i guess.
Yossi i am working with both Starsound Records (Johnny Sin the founder of the label is one of my 2 partners in our Trance Alliance Project) and also with Repsycle Music.The thing is that the Starsound compilation that me and Johnny will release is almost ready and it will be released begining of September (who wants to release something into the summer anyway) and the Repsycle Compilation will follow afterwards.
Anyway about the compilation you already read my comments and knowing yours and Candys musical taste i am 100% sure that you will enjoy Connected a lot!

Detox good review! looks like it took you 1hour and 16 minutes to write... personally i would write more, something like 2 hours, why dont you want to invest the time? lazy? i only know 2 artists here MOS and spectral skunk... anything from zma is usually good. I didnt know it was out already! cant wait to get it.

haven't heard the album yet, but i have heard M.O.S.--Connected, and i can tell you this track is THE BOMB! i would be very surprised if any of the tracks on the comp are better, but who knows? will find out soon:) |
