my bax is transformerless, but the combination of the HPF and the low shelf can do truly wonderful things to the bass.

the hpf seems to be really something on the bax ,how you completly satisfied with this eq ? it s more aimed at mastering no?
|
|
very, very satisfied, had it about a year now, and working with it nearly every day. love it to bits! check out the manual, it's definitely not only applicable to mastering.

I like DDMF IIEQpro specifically on the kick and bass, its got nice sharp-edged Butterworth filters and a bunch of different kinds.
I hear a lot about Pro-Q, maybe I ought to check it out myself

isn't logic's channel EQ that one that has been shown to be really shit? I remember reading in a bunch of places that it destroys the low end etc

i remember reading that all those digital minimum phase eq's use the same basic algorithm and even cancel out (with 2 different plugins) when the phase is inverted on one if the settings are equivalent.
i've tried some other eq plugins but have always come back to logic's simply because of ease of use.
i haven't encountered a problem with the low end with channel eq. the only thing that's certainly shitty for the bass frequencies is (logic's) linear phase eq. |

interesting. i have immediately tried to replicate their results, but haven't been able to. did apple fix it, or can't i see anything because of my noobness with using voxengo span?
here are the spectra i got:
1khz sine (same as they used) without eq:
1khz sine with 24db 30hz low cut with channel eq
1khz sine with 24db 30hz low cut with pro-q
to me, it doesn't look anything like the results from the blog you linked to. |

yeah indeed , still think the hp is not good on logic eq and on loads of eq.., fab is a bit better but still mess the sound too much depending the material it can be a issu or not.. |
