About drugs, you can find 'em anywhere nowdays. If you go to such a party without consolting your parents, it's your problem.... not anyone else's.

But thats just it, it IS everyone elses problem.

We live in a real world, with real problems and real people.

Sure, in principle, people should not be excluded from a culture due to age, and that is also not what Im suggesting.

Rules and morals in "normal" society are there for a reason, often a preventive one. Just because our culture is "psychedelic" by definition it doesnt mean that rules and morals are turned inside out.

Its a matter of being responsible, both as an organizer, but also on a whole as a culture.

If we are not responsible, the rest of society will not allow us to have what we have. Its really so simple, and anyways, who is to say it is wrong to exclude people under a certain age from a security standpoint?

I think, in the end, its very much up to the event and the people to decide. Having a group of 12 year olds run around at a festival, without any supervision, thats just wrong.

We are just humans, like everybody else, and as such we are subject to the same flaws, rules and laws as everyone else. We are no better than the rest, and the limitations of society are there for a reason - this cannot be ignored.
Will it keep young people from going to parties ? No ! Not in our culture, and not in the mainstream culture either.

Your point about drugs being everywhere is wrong. You are overstating the facts. Facts are, if I go to a mainstream location, I wont get offered any drugs. While standing outside my tent for a few hours, at for instance the VooV Experience Festival, will land me several offers for mdma, lsd or mushrooms.

Why are the age limits there ? Because people of very young age are too easily tempted and manipulated into doing things which are just plain stupid.

The younger you are, the less common sense you have, as well as experience in life. That lands you into trouble, sometimes serious trouble.

Trance parties are the ONLY events I have seen people die at, and I think its more serious business than what many people would have others believe it is.

They can bring parents or a guardian - Something to ensure they have sane adults to back them up there, then its ok with me. Otherwise, I prefer people wait untill they are older and respect age limits.

There are more important things to life than partying.

Easy for you to say, but what if you're 17 years old and you think there's no reason for you not to party?

well, i was 17 once too, 6 years ago, and i was standing in the same situation many times, when i got the answers i did not want to hear i found some other ways to enter.
i tottally agree with you that music is ageless, and i think you should divine yourself from most people at your age(at least the spoken age, not now) as much more mature person than normal at that age, exactly like me back than.
one thing i dont agree with you, i totally understood even than why i'm not allowed to enter, and today as an orginazier i can tell you that i rather loose one mature kid than have a group of irisponsible teens under my responsibility...           Bottom Line Presents

i've never had problems because of my age (20 now, 12 when it started), and i've never felt worried by younger people around me. age simply doesnt matter.

limiting parties to people of let's say 21 years of age doesnt mean less unexperienced, less troubling, less loud, less annoying, less "endangered" people. it also doesn't mean more deep intelligent conversations, whatever.

in my opinion, these limitations are rather a law than a moral issue, and being such, they are reasonable, and i have never complained about it in the past.

personnally, i'm happy to learn from and to listen to both the elder and the younger.

drugs are bad for all of us also booze and hash

there is no bigger turnoff than little kids running around you high as hell on E's
now seriously I prefer going to events with more mature crowd for many reasons, mostly because mature crowd is more peaceful & harmonic,i don't mind when there are few kids @ a party, afterall we're not in some nightclub making selections...that's why i chose going to only certain kinds of parties by quality productions (3rd-empire, badolina..etc) who don't make they parties too accesible...
and even if there are some kids at such party ,its okay with me because if they made all the way to such party they deserve to be part of the scene... afterall they are the next generation.

like you said seeing kids running around on e is BAD and even worse is seeing kids trip badly on some micro...
theres a reason for keeping them away

I love young people at parties! They dance man and many of the new generation is so much looking for new experiences through life and music wow! Man last time i talk to a 15 yr old kid who come to our parties sometimes, he was such a great guy! I could not beleive he was only 15 and so mature and ready for life! Amazing i think the future lies in the hands of the younger people! Only problem with the young ones is that they take really too much drugs i think! There is no education on how harmful these can be to them if taken in big quantities with no control!

Pity though i think by time they will learn to moderate a little bit hopefully

          Boom :)
