Xara Dulzura is an multi-stage annual event celebrating the Burning Man vibe as well as the Spring Equinox. It is held on a monestary covering many acres of green grass and a few small lakes, surrounded by granite hills.
This year the event will last 4 days and 3 nights. The Psycircle crew will be hosting the line-up for the electronic dance music stage, which will be psy at night and everything else (IDM, downtempo, breaks, etc) during the day, mostly live acts/producers. This stage will be totally decked out with grass, jungle(trees and plants brought in), a running waterfall, and lots of blacklite art and deco.
The lineup for the Psycircle stage will be posted soon, it is still being worked on.
Sound By NETWORK 23
This year we are expecting capacity (1000).

ive heard tales for years about Xara, and with the psycircle crew doing things, i think this will be deffinatley worth the excursion

I talked with Boti and we decided that to fly in some DJ's for this show. Moksa from Georgia is confirmed and I e-mail a couple more folks and am waiting for a reply. This gathering will be a great place to meet all kinds of family on the west coast. Bom to Boti for getting the booking position and contacting the rest of the family. |

damn straight billy. this event has grown. i have been a part of xara since my first show with them in Black Rock City in 2001. Mubali and Paradigm might remember that wednesday night on the playa, pieces are blurry in my mind though.
since then, xara has been an integral part of the shred of remaining underground still hiding out in san diego. its our annual tribute to burning man in the spring because sometimes August is just too damn far off.
This will be the 4th year I've been a part of this event in Dulzura. The monks of the monestary have been extremely hospitable towards our cause and continue to have us back. thankfully we have control of the electronic stage after a couple years of disappointment with confusion, busted gear, and shut-downs because the live-band stage demanded complete attention.
Bodhi and I are talking with musicians from EVERY scene, there will be a wild mix of styles, psytrance being the primary focus during peak nighttime hours.
There will probably be a couple smaller stages propped up around the monestary, but our stage will be the loudest and the most decked out, and for dj's and electronic producers only. There will be another Xara hosted stage in the main field, for the live jam bands.
Has anybody ever seen the Xara Project on the Esplanade at burning man? If you have seen the structure, it is coming back, forest/jungle style.
We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

yeah tom i do remember that wedensday night, or fragments of it anyways. That was probably my highlight of that year on the playa.
Its really nice that you guys have control over this, and with Brads system as well, it would be hard for another stage to compete.
Even nicer is the jungle decor from years past. That shit always lit that place up...

I dont think Xara is going back to the playa, at least not this year. Mark Hinkely is having his own fun doing his own thing now, which spawned from their burning man camp, which yes they did have mutaytor play.
The lineup will be posted soon. remember to go check out the website to see wassup so people can plan.
