I have been wanting to post this here for a long time...

To my fellow brazilian Dj's and Dj wannabe's:
*PLEASE do NOT play music from the internet at parties This is MY MAJOR CONCERN*

I'm amazed with the growing number of people that call themselves Djs here in Brazil. Not only in this forum but outside at the parties it looks like there are 5000 people who think they know all about trance -- everyone aiming at the stage... Positive potential, yet terrible and misled perspectives.

I am tired of going to parties where "Djs" play bad quality music because the music is "unreleased" or it's a "hit"

People pay for these parties and they have the right to demand quality.

Stealing music from the internet is often viewed as wrong. Now, PLAYING stolen music is 3x wronger. Dont you see that IF you play music from the internet its quality decreases... Where is the respect for the artist that made that track? Not only stealing but destroying art.

IF you think that 190 or 256kbps are "OK", YOU ARE WRONG!!! Anyone that has a good ear and is an avid listener senses the change in frequencies due to compression.

Therefore, if you do or plan to play music from the internet you do not deserve my respect (and you know who you are), the respect of the artists and your own respect because you are a BAD person, a thief, a destroyer and a terrible Dj...

F**K YOU!
____________________________________

I'm really sorry for this outbreak. It's just that i'm tired of this... I know we have MANY serious Djs here in Brazil and none of this is for them. I would also like to compliment these serious Djs. People that play original and non-stolen music have ALL MY RESPECT even if their set is "old" or not "unreleased". A good mix definately make up for that. Brazukas, all my respect and encouragement (you also know who you are)

People should also know the importance of a good mix, which lacks in most of these lamme Djs that only know how to press play...

This must stop! For the producers, i often see that you put those lamme djs to play at your parties because they are your friends or "lick your balls", please stop that... But it is very important to keep supporting new talents! Very important!

Next time I pay to see these pricks playing eggs and tomatos will support them.

And dont tell me i'm wrong! No excuses...           cna't find it

Couldn't agree more....

I've always thought like that, we need less DJs and more fans. More people that buy music. More people that are knowledgeable (I like to think that me, VOR and this forum have done a great deal to help in this part). More people that have high standards.

Unfortunately, don't think that will happen...that's why I don't go out that much anymore...

I agree with about the wrong attitude of downloading music from the web. But You should know how hard it is for us brazucas to buy cds and eps before start posting rude msgs like this... RELAXXXxxxXXX
the internet may be the ONLY way for some people to know some producer work and start to apreciate it!
thats how we get more fans.... ! our cd stores dont sell even the gms oldest cd!

Guto Franklin, you should learn how to read before tellin' me to relax and saying that i'm rude. I did not say anything, no comments on music trading or downloading. This is not my point... it's another story.

I am talking about Djs that PLAY stolen music... And I dont take it back one step. Your msg was completely

Peace and light!           cna't find it

Shrom, its that good old story... being the wise guy, and thinking that no one will notice, its the cheapest way, and the best way to get noticed. but they dont have a clue how bad it is, they just want to be 'DJs' no matter what, they dont even have a clue about quality, just want to be popular and respected.

but you all (the ones who do this kind of thing) I would like to tell you that from the point that you do this you have lost respect from me and others           "Great things are only possible with outrageous requests." Thea Alexander

I agree. But I also think the problem is not the mp3 lack of quality (if they release a technology in which the quality of the sound is 100% equal to the CD you'll stop arguing? no), the problem is that people must be educaded.
Playing stolen music for a crowd and earn money in the process is really an absurd.

Indeed my friend! I totaly agree with you! The problem is not about quality it is about stealing. Without hipocrisy, however, at a party the quality is essential, the best quality, so this is my great concern. It is already a HUGE disrespect to play stolen music and it is even GREATER imo if the music is in bad quality.

Well, disrespect is always disrespect no matter how "big". So it doesnt really matter... The only way to end this is if they stop playing stealing music. You're right!

(I should say "everyone" must stop stealing music, in fact, but NO WAY i'm starting a trading conversation here...)

Enough! It's good to have people in this forum that really care about the scene and have some ethics.

Have a nice day my friend!           cna't find it

In my opinion Brazilian people download music from the internet (Soul Seek, Kazaa, etc ) because they dont have other choice! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A LOT OF ORIGINAL CDS!!! But thats just not possible... We should have more CD Stores aoround here!! That would be Wonderfull ! ! !
Music is to be danced!!!
Dont mean no Disrespect man. ((Cheers!!))

this thread is about playing mp3's at parties where people are paying good money to listen to bad sound quality . If you can't afford to buy cds then i guess you can't afford good dj equipment either, ie cd decks, mixer, headphones, etc...

Not possible to buy? Please, dont make me laugh...

For the net guys:

If somebody have a couple of mp3 tracks does it mean that this person is a dj?
Killer... then my girlfriend is also a dj.

Mp3 is for listening at your home or at your car. Not for playing at partys.

This is something i have to agree with Astral Mike!!!

If so called Djs are playing bad quality music in brazilian parties.... thats just wrong!!
it seems that we were talking about two diferent topics man! I felt that Shrom's first post said that downloading is bad! so i felt like posting something to defend it! do you think i shouldnt?? thats fine!
i agree that mp3 is not to be played at parties.... but i think every dj does it!
so... when i hear some bad quality songs in future parties i hope that youre not the one behind the mixer!! Cheers!!
thanx for the websites...really apreciate it!

Are you crazy? Re-read your own words...

This was never about mp3 downloading!

Dude, in my first post I wrote in BOLD letters what it was about. In my second post, I emphasized it even further. Mp3 trading is another subject.

You think every dj plays stolen music... Now i'm gonna have to say that you are so mistaken that you should hide yourself!

You wont be seeing me behind mixers...

If I could, I would lock this topic now...
