traveller, you're missing the point.
GMS & Astrix were the first to make this type of fullon, they are original. It's the rest which mimics them, but they are quite original.
Besides, GMS & Astrix are 2 opposite sides of the "commercial" fullon of today. GMS are the ones with bleeping noises and weird stuff in it, while Astrix represents the melodical side.

Posford has not released his own psy track in years. GMS hasn't been interesting in years. I mean, Astral Projection used to be innovative and original, and so was Paul Oakenfold.. Fifteen years ago. But we are talking about NOW!
Who sounds different than anyone else, who has innovative ideas, who is trying to redefine trance music? That's the question, I think... let's not rehash the old favorites, okay? 
for me, some of the most unique sounding artists are Kiwa and the Vicious Spiral. |

Deedrah/Synthetic has the most original music in the scene for me,highest production quality and innovative ideas.My favorite artist ever.
Now some other artists that i can think of are...
Space Cat has his own full on style.
The Antidote has his own full on/proggy style.
Infected Mushroom have their own style (though i dont like it a lot i have to say).
X Dream have also developed their own style lately which is more techno oriantated.
Dark Soho use more guitars and have a darker style 
Sub6 develop nice innovative music.
Psysex have many styles and i like them a lot.
Skazi has his own style though i dont like it.
Orion has his own deep atmospheric style.
And some more that i cannot mention at the moment,original music is not easy to find in our days but some good artists still exist and worth checking them out

I agree Posford has not released anything innovative in a very long time, and GMS are continuing the same already for a while.
Time to move on to newer things.
