there should be more tech artists...

Yea, we need more tech trance... more trashy distorted noisy music... too much full on and prog.. im sick off it too... Detroit party's are much more fullfilling, these days with all these assembly line full on stuff... :/

absolutzero: the moment you said that trance must be kept alive as other subgenres, you just gave techtrance it's official OK.
The problem isn't the lack of techtrance, the problem is that people make stereotypes of genres instead of music. I'm quite sure there are the people capable of creating dark and devilishly groovy techtrance out there, but they're too busy either trying to make 'proffesional' grooves and ending up sounding like a Son Kite ripoff, or want to add all of the 'modern' dancefloor energy and sound like another GMS clone.
It's all just music you know - it's a shame that people don't make DIVERSE music and that tracks sound too similar to one another most of the times. The problem isn't that people don't make enough techtrance, the problem is that people divide psytrance into subgenres and thus set their own limits.

IMO - because all "tech" tracks starts to sound very similar to each other. people wanna hear some other stuff in music except most of the common used elements in "tech" and i think that these common elements are ...
- Quality and sound as a main concept.
- Pure Beat and rhythm , no note musicality [sometimes]
- Monotonous and flat flow.
people want more than that !
i guess people wanna hear more sound and more surplus of dimensions, more intelligent sound, music that takes you somewhere ! actually its a fact.
its like....
"why should i eat this "bread" only if this table infront of me is just full of "meat" and "tasty stuff" ?!?!?!"
the "bread" is the basic elements,
the "meat" is all the sounds that u can put-on the bread, and itll be a lot more interesting and tasty.

I don't think techtrance all sounds the same.. even the techtrance artists themselves make tracks that sound different from there last release (which isn't the case with full-on)..
The real reason is that, techtrance doesn't sell as much as full-on.. not many dj's have the balls to mix techtrance, because of all the variance in the frequencies, making it very hard to mix for prolonged periods of times..

for me this is simple... in portugal tech atracts lots of unwanted...bad mood people... that just leave to take drugs still other people things.. and they are coming to trance.. why? because music is becaming more agressive (skazi..xenomorph..goa gil..etc) music getting hard..twisted..having bad feelings.. so do people... if its not happening at you country good for you..
another thing is that most of the "new generation" (and im not old) start going to parties when all of this bad things happen and they take so many drugs that they loose the sence of whats good or bad..
i think you get the idea of whats going on..
so if you ask me about tech trance.. no please. just by the people that listen to it...(in portugal "all" tech parties have figths in the dance floor)
and by the way i realy dont like techno..

melodies has been always been liked by many people, since the baroque era, and classical era, classical music contains a lot of melodies and no surprise why a lot of people like it.
melodies exist in every genre of music... pop,rock,metal,trance..
ofcourse there are less melodical tracks, but face it - without melodies - music is meaningless.
tektrance involves little to no melodies - that's why not many people like it = not many tektrance artists
