I really don't understand why each week you have sometimes 15 releases!!??
Why each day you have a new label rising?

i thought Trance was difficult for label to sell and now there are more and more stuff to buy...

please explain me the point (Dj, artist, label manager, or anybody else...)

peace

There is no point except that everyone tries to milk this scene for some more $$ and that is how it looks btw

Over the years equipment has been getting cheaper and cheaper, building a digital home studio ready for production is pretty much in everybody's reach if you have some dedication...
I think this has seriously influenced (and will even more in the future) how we can observe the whole musician aspect. many years back there where only few artists (pioneers at the time, legends by now) that actually got to record in proper conditions and get their tracks released... Where are the legends these days?

Instead of a famous few I see a LOT of young talented people everywhere these days, hundreds of home studio artists fighting for their piece of the cake (not with bad intentions). Each one of those has only one dream: releasing to the world the music they have been working on for quite some time (i hope)...

It's not hard to make a release i think, as in the process of creating/collecting a series of tracks and having them pressed on cd... but i think it'll be a nearly impossible challenge for any artists currently at work to still release an album with the impact of albums released many years ago.

I still find a lot of good and interesting music in current releases but it takes some digging!           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. Get a free 250Mb Artist profile, Blog and events calender!

i think too there way TOO many labels
the trance scene is so small, why people open new labels? they are just "sucking" money from the big ones and in that way none of the labels will survive..
the trance scene need only big labels.. so it can survive..
small labels usually close or went bankrupt or something.. they CAN'T survive

u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

I can't say that i agree, how did the big labels get where they are now anyway? Although it would be interesting to see some smaller labels merge maybe... however i could imagine this can be very impractical for the working of the label.           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. I don’t know if it’s such a bad thing. I thought so last year, but to be honest I’ve been really surprised to see so many high quality releases so far in 2004.

Sure, there are fillers, but looking back I’m convinced that (for me at least) 2004 is one of the greatest years in terms of high quality releases, and I have personally never bought more CD’s than I have done in the last 6 months.

with so many releases labels do face a cash crunch.........there is so much competiton to get a part of market share....how many cds does an individual buy in a year.....not as many as the releses.so there is a distribution of profits.........this is exactly the reason why so many labels are shuttin down.....for a label to prosper the only thing it can do is release killer compils/albums............the ones which dont manage to do this will die an early death and automatically will get eliminated from the scene so i guess those who are in it and dont produce quality stuff are on their way out soon

Yes I agree it is good because competition = quality, if you don't release quality then you lose out... it's a risk as is any new business... and fans in this scene are very picky!!

"money money money, must be funny, in a rich mans world"

everything will change soon anyway....people achive unreal results in their home studios, great mix great mastering...great QUALITY.
soon people will relaize they can market there own music with out involving a 3rd party.....
then the releases will be on a much higher rate in way lower coasts........and music will once again be truly affordable......ahhhhhh the good days to come

sorry man, but i´m not agree....What do you mean whe you say BIG LABEL??????
In this scene i don´t know big labels and in other point of view, they born bigger´s or turn bigger´s with the past of the time and the good work. I don´t know any baby with "moustache" his birthday. Time to time
Off course, someones try to find his bussiness, but if they do with love what is the problem??? bankrupt, ok, i think they soffer this situation more than any of us.

The problem are not the many releases but the MANY BAD RELEASES.

Everyone can make a label anytime he wants and release his and his friends music, that a major problem in our scene.

Its up to the people that support the trance scene by buying original music to look around whats going on and judge by themself which label is doing a serious work by providing them with good and quality music and to support these labels and ignore the rest who make releases just for fun or small time profit.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
