IMHO Europe and other countries where psy trance is stablished have a longer club and electronic music tradition than the US. Also here in the US the two main youth music cultures are rock and urban music.
We have in the US a rich development of electro, techno, hip hop and experimental.
In a way it is just a matter of tradition and nothing more. |

well how i see it is ... we here are suckers... we believe all that the media tells us. and the media hasn't said anything positive about the trance scene. we are not experimental anymore, not with our music and surely not with our minds. we love listening to words and buy them out straight away... we love to hear our own voices or someone elses... trance dance is a form of meditation...not everybody's cup of tea... |

dont get me wrong brother... but i do not mean to demean no one ... here on this forum we are like minded people and what we talk about are why others haven't ever given trance a chance... thats why trance hasn't grown that much ...infact the scene was big here in the past and has shrunk here in nyc. though its growing in strength in europe, india, thailand, bali, israel, australia. well even in england, the trance scene is slowly shrinking. labels are packing up.
please do not misunderstand... its the easiest thing for one to do... and if i have hurt your sentiments then i truly apologise... |

Psyderman, I think here in America ppl have great visions through deep experimentations of all kinds  I personally know ppl here in Miami who are making very interesting music (not trance, not house but something new) and through the music are building a culture.
About trance, IMHO ppl just don't know. We just need to make a party and invite them Let them choose for themselves.

...but still, you may not agree with me, but i would add some acid in the list! otherwise, it is a fake trance (IMHO - already proven by history in any other places!). without deep psychedelic changes - if there is no shift, -than its just a bunch of drunk(maximum smoked up!/pill) - and that will not be the TRANCE!

well i know many people who can achieve a state of trance by just letting go of themselves on the dance floor. when the dancer dissappears and only the dance remains. as for the substance, everyone has to choose it for themselves. its a life/mind altering moment. true i agree drunk and pill poppin people are the ones doing the roundz of most of the trance scenes and thats why we have so much of the melodic sounds all through the night. its disturbing to walk in at 2am and hear 6am soundz. i am all for the deep psychedelic sounds at night which really turn your world around and then nothing remains the same. people hear the melodies all through the night. its a combination mind altering sounds and substances to make a difference ... remember they are both best when taken together in combinations ...

I guess then there is a shortage of acid. So the problem of ppl not trancing to psy trance is a manufacturing problem Not really a problem with the ppl perse since Acid is the essencial ingredient for the SHIFT.

ok, man, i dont want 2 talk a lot but it is a matter of many factors (manufacturing - is one of the most essentials!  ) check out the party pics around the world! . THE DIFFERENCE IS HUGE!!!!!
the partys with @@@@
1. different selection of music by djz(if the djz know what is what!)
2. ppl try 2 make it OUTDOORS(not in clubs!)
2. ppl are not asleep at 4 am!, drinkin beer!
3. the partys, mostly, end daytime the next morning (continueing to afterpartys)!
4. ppl dance is ON THE EDGE of something...
5. deco is becoming as sth sacred!
6. totally different reaction of the crowd to music!
......
there is no really need in naming all the details.
ps My shortest answer is a quote of the saying by Ganesh Baba - "Once a Psychedelic - Always a Psychedelic!". thats it, bro!

true dat... we make parties back home and they start at about 12am and are on till about 12pm... main ingredient is surely @. (its true that there is a shortage of @ world wide)and i agree with psyderman... night time is surely for @ and the music that goes with it... equation goes like this...
