Why Pps project and Atomic pulse laugh with us!

As you assumed i was last Saturday at the party with “Delta, pps project, atomic pulse & mumbo jumbo”
I’m not gonna make a review for the party here. I going to mention something that got into my attention (and not only mine) which make me feel very bad (almost feel like an idiot) and embarrassed.
I went to the party around 1:30 and some newcomers dj’s where playing at that time. Ok, this wasn’t really a warm up set cause they where playing like if it was 5 o clock in the morning (very fast a noisy stuff-full on psychedelia) and the venue was a bit empty at that time. but this was ok. This guys (was a back to back set) didn’t mixed…they just fading out and in. which is no bad either. So after an hour or maybe more I suddenly hear a mix that not even James Monro could do, so i turn and see the same guys playing and I wondered what happen?? After repeating the same thing for the next 4-5 tracks I was convinced that this tracks was premixed at home or it was a mixed cd playing. Pretty shame for such a big party to have that kind of dj’s to represent us.
I was sitting right behind Felix, Sammuel (pps project) and Tamir (A. P.) and they notice it immediately and started to laugh about it. Felix even went to the stage and stayed there to watch from close how the dj mixed and after watching another fake mix he returned to his friends and they started laughing about it.
So i ask, you organize a big party like this with 4 guests from abroad in a great venue like “Silo” with 35 euro!!! entrance and you can find some descent dj’s to start the party??? The trance alliance team that was supporting and helped this party to take place have a dj team behind them that could do that job good and properly. why they didn't arranged that matter too?? I heard that one of this 2 guys was the organizer and put the money for it but this is no excuse…if you wanna play organize a private party at your home!!
I hope that we wan't see any other phenomena like this in the future.

Kiou first of all we must make clear to everyone in this forum that this WAS NOT a Trance Alliance event,we as you might know work also as a kind of booking and promotion agency so when this guy contacted us to help him we showed our good will and we were in fact very happy to help cause Silo is an amazing place and the line up that the guy asked from us to book him was very good also.It seemed that it was going to be a very nice party and we thought that we could help it a little, without making almost any profit by the way.

This was not our party so we just followed what the guy was saying to us.We have a dj team as you mentioned and we ofcourse advised the organiser that somebody from our team like Johnny Sin or Nikos Liquid Love should perform at this event instead of these upcoming 'wanna be' dj's that did an awfull job by the way.The answer we got from the organiser though was that 'This is my event and these are my friends that helped me and i want them to play music',we just respected that since it was his party afterall.

Me and Johnny Sin did the bookings and took care of the artists while they stayed in Athens, all the artists mentioned on the flyer were here, they got payed what we had aggreed (although the organiser lost serious money) and the artists left happilly back to their countries thanking us for the hospitallity.

Also the third member of the Trance Alliance team,Sarantos, along with our promotion team did their best to promote this event but another big party that was taking place on the same day plus some 'very nice' people that sended sms to clubbers informing them that the party would be shut down by the police prevented people from attending Silo Club which is a hell of a club by the way.I am very sorry to see that trance fans still pay attention to the words of these 'very nice' people that sabotage many events, after all these lies that they have said and after jeopardizing their self hundreds of times with their actions people still show respect and believe the words of these people. Its so sad actually.

So as mentioned above,in every area of this event that Trance Alliance was involved in (bookings, promotion) everything was perfect, for everything else you can ask the organiser of this event.

P.S When the party started i talked with one of those wanna be dj's and asked him what kind of music was he intending to play cause he should start with lower bpm.The answer i got was 'You will see no worries'.Well just for your info he started with GMS lol lol lol.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I totally agree with you Kiou...the main thing is not whether the djs are beat-matching or not...but if they are "cheating" the people who came to the party...many people would not understand the "cheating" and these djs take them for fools.....pathetic...

Btw..this is not an unusual phenomenon from foreign artists either...A highly respected name with many many years of experience in the scene and head of one of the leading names in psy labels played at a party in Thessaloniki a couple of months ago and did the same thing...used a mixed cd!!! Who is it? I can tell you he releases mixed cds too under his name...Traktor does a good job...

hey detox you are getting off topic here!!! i mentioned the fact that the "wanna be" dj's as you said make an awfull job and try to fooled us with a mixed cd. i didn't mention anything for your organization exept that you helped them. which you agree. also i have to say that they wouldn't get so far without you....so...relax, you are always so in a hurry!?!
the book you wrote about trance alliance didn't neede here...only your last paragraph would be more than enough...
i mention here something, i don't judge!

Kiou i just wanted to make things clear to everyone in this forum. You have to know that not everybody is deep in this scene like you are and some people dont have the ability to judge things in the right way cause of their limited knowledge and information on several subjects.

And i am always relaxed my dear friend.
When i am pissed off you will know it

i am also kind of surprised to hear that Tristan is performing with mixed cd's,he is a very good dj in my opinion and i also really liked his mixed cd on Twisted Records           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Nectarios: i don't excuse anyone doing this...you pay them well enough so you hear them mix, heavy shedule doesn't means anything. that is his job anyway... i totaly excuse a bad day, everybody can make awfull sets because he is tired or whatever and there will ever be nights where you can make a proper mix...but not to play with mix cd's.

detox: i agree with you about most ppl but i don't think that i gave this impression even to them. plus i found your answer just to much...

one question detox. why will i know when you get pissed off??????

Alex: where you talking about Tristan???

hey Kiou...no it was not Tristan I was talking about..but you came close (UK), I will email you in private if you so curious...

I still agree 100% to what Kiou is saying above, I respect DJs that will even have a bad night that are least trying their best and not someone who is "acting" as if he is mixing and fooling the whole dancefloor....in the best case, I would only find an excuse for an unexprienced young DJ - not for DJs playing professionally all over the world for many years and getting paid lots of money..there is simply no excuse for them...they'd better stay ay home...

Yeah that thing with fake live perfomances is just funny. Many artists do that unfortunely.

Kiou when i am pissed off i shout a lot and get red.
As you can see i am not either shouting or got a red colour on my face           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Live performances. i don't think that there is something funny about them. most of them are fake but it's always a good excuse for the organizers to have a higher entrance. personally i don't go to see most of the live performances...I’ve watched many and have my experience with them. Specially after last Samothraki where i was working as a stage manager i saw most of them from behind the scene and i can tell you that just a few are worth to watch.
so..IMO, don't go to live pa's, don't pay high entrances for fake lives. i prefer dj sets that are more honest (at least the most of them). Don’t let them fool you with fancy flyers about huge live sets… and if you see a fake live set just don’t go again for it!!
From the most respected live sets I’ve seen are from Element, Bigwigs, Delta (this Saturday..they rocked!)…

Cheers…

And the problem Kiou is that artists also ask double money for a live perfomance rather for a dj set.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
