re-liscensing tracks isnt such a weird concept. especially if it's for a comp.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

why rereleasing tracks?
there are a lot of unreleased tracks.

labels can release them instead of re-release others.           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

Hod, I'm beginning to think you're not very smart. No offence, but unreleased tracks DO get released in the end (if they're good enough).

They are not old, it's just that you have downloaded unreleased tracks.           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

Already released tracks dont cost as much as an unreleased track.

Some tracks in the new Delta album are almost 2 years old like Stand By for example, this though doesnt make a track bad.

And yes FSOL=Future Sound Of London.

lets look at it this way.

DJ A. cuts a single for lable X. lable X puts it on a comp and sells it. somewhere in the world, someone isnt getting that track by DJ X. so, local lables liscence DJ A's Track from Lable X and re-release it on their own comp.

i think that's one way of putting it. especially with all the comps from Japan and the states some of us don't get quite so often..

the main problem is rereleasing...

besides... i think that compilations with already released tracks (e.g GoaHead) don't sell it all.           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

Well I can sorta understand what rippa is talking about. For example if you look at the new Park Avenue 2 compilation you have 4 or 5 tracks from 2001 and even one Antix track from 2000! Some of them like the Paste track (Hihatic) are great so I don't mind but if Plastik Park needs to put a 2 year old track on their comp that really even isn't that good then something isn't right.

rereleased tracks are bad for either ppl who are only downloading music, 'cause they can already download them, or for ppl who already bought another CD that has the track and already got tired of it.
Again, if this is a good track, you won't get tired of it so fast, and then there's no problem.

And I think the last PP CD is a singles collection, hence the old tracks.

Remember: The COMPILATION is not only for DJ'S !! One simple guy will buy the cd because have a SKAZI track on it, and he know that is killer, so he buy the compilation. the objective of the compilation is THAT, get killer track and put on one simple CD.
Remember 2: YOU have the track months ago. Because some people get this ( MP3 ) and put on the net. So with you don't get a fake version, you get the real music in bad quality. YOU have the track, but the record don't have the track in CD yet ( almost ). So they pay a lot of money to SKAZI make one track, and they don't will put on cd because HALF of the net have the track???

and sometimes labels like to release wide-ranged compilation. people who like good trance but are not trance addict as we are, miss most releases. so labels release double compilations with the best tracks from the last 3 (or more) months.           REHAB is for quitters

ohh....
i see my topic went tottaly wrong!
that's not what i was mentiond...
but after all this oposition agaisnt me hehe...
i have only 1 excus.
and that's to make the compl
alot more attractive to buy , lets look
at it this way that someone that buys trance cd's knows a thing or two about trance
if for a example this someone sees a new cd on a the store or in the net
and sees alot of new tracks that wasnt released before and they're very fresh why not buying them?
in the other hand i did 1 mistake...
if a track is a few monthes or even a year
and wasnt released before and he rocks there's no reason not to release it...
i guess im standing between the lines know do know where my opinion stands exctaly
but if this topic hurt someone i apologize
it was wrong to put this topic i think hehe..
for the next time.
cheers.
