Simply layering a stereo synth over a mono bass, also works.

That stab will probably just be a single high quality oscillator, likely saw, with eq, fx and he would have made a pocket using eq in the bass for it to poke through so cleanly.

I use stereo basslines a lot.
Usually I get 2 saws for example and put one 25-35% to the left and the other one with same settings on the right.
Then you add little movement on the filters like right slowly going up and left slowly going down but just a tiny bit for extra movement.
