I noticed that most of the compilation have their last track quite different from rest of the tracks....

Just to bring it out....
On Utopia 2..The Promised Land...the last track is Manali by Harida....This track is very much like a Indian classical track....

2nd one....On the compilation A little Lunacy....The last track is Sense by Chilled Cquecnce which is very slow and seems to me like Ambient music....and there are some more....

Is it that the story line of the compilation...or it just made for what ever reason.....

At the same time there are some compilation where there are powerful track at the end.....

a nice chilled track in the end to relax you after the crazy ride you have been put thru!

Have a good time all the time!

It makes sense man... I don't think they put the tracks in a random order, there's a reason why the first one is first and the last one is last... usually...

Yeah! Why only the last one? Why not all the tracks are different?

Sorry, couldn't resist that...

It could be nice, though, admit it...           ---------------------------------------------

It gives a nice ending to any album, cause I believe that each CD should have a story, have its ups and downs (not in a bad way) Having a variable style of tracks on a album is wicked IMO!

@ shahar: I also thought about that.....a compilation made entirely of tracks that go at the end......ie. a chill album, hehehe

I recorded a mix like that a couple of years ago.
9 good tracks which were at the end of an album.

Sounds good to me:)

But y do most of the stories end with a chill out note..?

I say, why not?

Maybe it's to allow your brain to gather all your thoughts after the rollercoaster ride it (the album) just took you on. Maybe that artist/rec. label just liked that chill track.

Or maybe a lot of diffrent record labels do that and they work wonders in the chill-room           https://www.djjeto.com

Something funny which I have also noticed is that in certain albums I bought the last quite track is sometimes either the best one or the only decent track in the whole album!
And that makes me ask:
"Why do some atrist keep insisting on producing full on when they can produce much better chill out or downtempo music"?
A perfect example in my opinion is Tristan's album - Substance.
I don't like any of the tracks in this album but the lat track is very good!

Maybe because it's all such a forumla these days that trancers won't open up to a CD starting with something different, or having different non-trance tracks in the middle of it.

When I compiled my first compilation I had to argue with the label manager and a lot of "industry" people who thought I must put the strongest track in the beginning, while I was more interested to tell a story and started with a 129bpm funky track and saved the "big hit" to the end of the CD.

There are exceptions to the last track is chillout formula, however, there are enough examples.           ---------------------------------------------
