A good dj knows how to mix and tell a good story. Mixing is just a part of the story telling. A bad mix will ruin the song and the story.
Take jorg for example. His trax are killer, but because he lacks the skills to mix, he sometimes ruins the story of the song.
As a dj i go to the party to hear the track and the mixing technique of a dj. I dont like to hear dj`s who lack skill.
Many japanese organizers just dont seem to understand that there are so many skilled local dj`s, but rather they would call someone from a diffrent country who sucks at mixing and telling a good story. |
