another thing could be that most of the dark music thats around this days is too bloody fast for a lot of people (even the ones that only take acid)

Australia isnt perfect, there are biases against aboriginies and some cultures, but for the most part the country is way more accepting of new things introduced from many cultures. So it's not 'white Australia' who is largely the cause, with only the exception of the occasional police causing issue there, not the general community.

Sure there is more work to be done, with more resources required to help solve the issues which face the aboriginal community, but Australia now has a government which can taken action there, to attempt to resolve these issues within the Aboriginal communities.

America has way more race issues than Australia, with race wars on their streets quite common, and live in a country where one in 5 americans believe the sun revolves around the earth! Australia only had two incidents of that scale in modern history (cronulla riots and redfern riots), but beyond that has had a pretty clean record. There are other issues of descrimination which have occured, but these are largely the *exception* and by far not the rule.

hmmm you obviously weren't looking in the right places/going to the right parties...
Some parties in melbourne have, its true become more electro/prog orientated(rainbow), but in melb during the summer months we have generally 3 or so outdoor parties every weekend and many of these are chock full of psychedelic music morning and night.

nearly every one I meet at parties is tripping balls these days, weather it be in melbourne, byron, qld or wherever.

and I think we actually get more dark music in melbs than in byron. Some of the parties I've been to there recently have been morning trance/full on the entire time. but in melbourne over the past few months we've had plenty of lineups with hours of dark music throughout the night.
(hefty output and pondscum have been playing lots of gigs lately, incidently both of these acts hail from melbourne....)
