I keep a lookout on the parties posted around the Byron Bay area and it does seem that, compared to melb parties, they do get more darker djs/artists. But in general it's only really dark/sa fullon, not real hardcore dark stuff. Although from what I've read of reviews there do seem to be a few djs up there spinning real dark and even some forest stuff which we pretty much never get in melbourne. It's true that at some of the smaller doofs there's sometimes 1 or 2 real dark djs at night, but never a whole night's worth. The only exception to this recently was at somatica which had like 8 hours of real hard dark shit. I wouldn't call royal doof a dark party, though, as all the acts so far are just dark/sa full on, though they did have penta last year.. |

yes it's v e r y serious stuff. There's nothing to look into. Melbourne has 1, 2, even 3 gigs on indoors and out every weekend and one of the healthiest scenes in the world per capita. All with an array of styles of music.
As for Dark. HA!!! A recent outdoor party over Easter  had no less than 7 hours of night music. WELL, we must be in dire straights then aye. NNSW has outdoor parties every weekend with at least a few hours of solid night tunage.
As previously mentioned, not many Aus parties ( although I still see plenty) get mentioned here becuase there is no need, we have our own local and national forums and solid turn outs at the parties.
What's the point of this thread then? |

yeah gigs i see happening wid the styles of psy which is pretty weird and fluffy . the last indoor gig if i remember correct wid a journey dat was complete the one Electrypnose played....
oh and the easter outdoor gig (somatica u talkin bout i guess) had like 7 hours of night music??? dat it??wowowoowow .... there were like 2 international artist and only 7 hours??
and yeah talkin bout the local forums hehehe.... i don see no light in it too....
And the crowd coming in for the gigs is jus they are so into the style of music they like which is the funk ,dub, or minimal again the list goes on ..... Try doing a partee wid jus the NIght music in it wid international artist lets say the likes of psykovsky,kindzadza,osom,gorump peyya, then u see u gonna loose a lotta money my friend coz u gonna witness a less turnout than the usuals. So i guess the reason for the lil night scene here in aus is jus that there are less peeepz here in dis country who likes this beautiful genre of psy .

People seem to have the misconception that judgement is bad. You know that any assumption you make about ANYTHING at ALL is a judgement? Ofcourse, the thing you are judging might give you a good or bad feeling, but it doesnt make judgement anything other than what it is...

Wtf does how long you've been listening to psy got to do with how valid your tastes are? it doesnt's take 10 years of listening to psy to decide you don't like a particular style. pretty sure i hated dnox and beckers and the likes horrible brand of electro psy the second i heard it.
