I think the original question was very immature... t should be asked as to why a lot of parties here spend so much time focussing on morning and progressive styles, instead of expanding and exploring the entire genre of psychedelic music.
personally an ideal party for me will flow through many styles to tell a whole stoy:
start 5:00 - 7:00 pm funky breaks, deep house and progressive trance
7:00pm - 9:00pm suomi style experimental
9:00 - 12:00am twilight/full on from 3D vision/timecode style to space tribe type crazy full on
12:00 - 5:00am darkpsy - dj's or live acts - so much variety out there now and experimentation - perfect for this time as the sounds are very trippy and the high bpm keep people awake and moving...
5:00 - 7am neo goa e.g suntrip and old is gold records
7 - 10am full on like logic bomb, and maybe some of the more quirky israeli stuff
10 - 12pm proggi/breaks
12 - close chillout/dub/ambient
have seen this done in a party in Japan and it was the most fun... the whole night told a story and every body had big smiles... all style explored and no bitching about any of it... last thing I want to hear at 2am is friggin' Ticon or Tribal at 120-130BPM... makes me sleepy... it's for mid morning or early - mid afternoon when you either want to boogie a bit or down some beers and watch the chica's dance... and on the same night no dark psy at sunrise - just makes me want to go home... it need to be an entire party journey!

I'd put the Soumi late morning (it can be fun music, so better suited for daytime!) and put dark prog/tech-trance before the full on set, makes for a better bridge between the flow of other prog and full on. and lastly, i'd scrap most kinds of israeli full on for the morning, and put on something less cheesy yet still good proper full on.
Incidently, parties with these kinds of journeys have been done outdoors already in Sydney/Newcastle before

If you give some demos to crews like Recommended Solutions crew, REGEN crew, and Lucid Visions crew around Sydney/Newy you may get yourself some opportunities there. www.australiens.net would be the best place to contact those crews. Can't give you ideal contacts for other areas except for Loony Tunes and Alien Gossip in Nth NSW area.

I've been to parties where there newer "clubber" style people get into the darker styles of music then leave in the morning, even before the "headlining" act. I guess they where put off by dancing in front of smelly hippies.
I think it is a bit of a regional thing, as an experienced dj will tell you. As I've heard the same track played by the same dj sound different in different regions.

"why do everyone like more of morning cheez &electro break funk here more than the dark night music"??
too much mdma and cocaine, and not enough acid
another thing could be that most of the dark music thats around this days is too bloody fast for a lot of people (even the ones that only take acid)
i think that thats the main 2 reasons for that question .. |

I do agree on the 'too fast' thing, but depends on definition of 'too fast', the 160+ stuff rarely still has psychedelic trance/techno elements to it (exceptions Osom, Kindzadza, Psykovsky), and is more psychedelic hardcore than anything else.
But i also tend to agree on choice of substance dictating in part what people listen to too, primarily psychedelics for psychedelic music.

I am really liking the fast stuff... some of the stuff Furious has done oh and the last 3 tracks on the last Tantrumm compilation are awesome... I'm not sure if I'd put them in my sets here in Oz yet, but for sure it works with people who enjoy their breakcore and glitch... I've been working hard on a few tracks, all rang from 170-220BPM... but it's mostly glitchy chopped up mishmash stuff, and lost of acid and psychedelic sounds, but you might not get it... my other tracks are more around the 150-160 mark... I think dark and suomi has mor ein style with the early sounds of this scene than any proggi or full on fo sho!
