i can't believe so many people think psytrance is so dj-unfriendly...

man, some psysubgenres are so damn easy to mix you don't even need to filter the highs and mids only the bass....if you just push play at the right time everything will just go great...you only need to pitch bend correctly

all this talk about odd bars and all..... much ado about nothing
Reminds me of a sample

Psy/Goa trance started off from the point of view of tracks as complete musical pieces rather than mixing tools, and this still applies in many ways, if perhaps less so than before. This is why tracks aren't always particularly DJ friendly.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Even the moaning isn't as good as it used to be           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

yes whats up with this

if you cant mix ,better let it be and focus on something else
never heard the term challenge and being creative

we are talking about tracks with 6-7 minutes to mix in and out
and hardly different beats 4/4 is very common

yes i agree if you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen
and in case you encounter the unusual beat how about
the old school crossfade mix when the track end start the next one or use the all so common break to change track

The conclusion of the quote baits/is a response that may call for A-B splicing in the loop department regarding this dj-friendly track issue The A-B Splice removes unwanted sections of a track seamlessly and will reduce the moaning by .003%...Personally RK9, I don't think your moaning, your question has evoked a lot of great tips from this community of Dj's to allow non professional Dj's to actually learn. I know trading is a topic that can draw editing but that's what Artist do, trade thoughts to evolve sound... Great tips everyone

You can also Mirror Mix on some gear, it's like having two copies of the same track while juggling the mixer's crossfader back and forth with the other track being slightly delayed per your choice of setting. It will call for 3 channels which allows for more canvas to be painted.

Granted, you will not find these 2 optional tips on standard gear but every Dj doesn't paint with the same Art supplies....

Actually any Dj can make existing tracks dj friendly           Monitoring devices, know where you go
Mass media, total control
Digital delight, desire in megabite
Data overflow, virtual suicide
This information, is disinformation

Not to get off topic, has anyone recorded any moaning and tricked it out while mixing?... Dam good sound and could also help as a tip in this topic you could also add a violin to make it more dramatic to put more focus on the odd bars, just another tip to help.

I guess I'm just going to have to move to laptop DJing so I can do edits and loops on the fly easily

I hate having to waste so much plastic burning CDs anyway. The only downside is I don't have a laptop and I can see myself breaking it or getting it stolen

It's pushing play at the right time that's the hard part, dude
