do you ever hear..... "Psy is not the way it use to be"......."the feeling is not the same"........?
you always hear it.....people wanting to recreate some of the old and glory moments and dayz of the past........
wanting to feel those same moments of ecstacy ,joy and freedom.......

these moments were great........and will alwayz be remembered as they were.....
for this we will never forget......

moments like these can not be reproduced or recreated.......they were what they were...

and now.....comes a new time.......and new moments and memories to Create rather than recreate......

the talent of inspiring new musicians has risen.....as a result of these great moments.......and now more than ever.......there is more energy than ever.....

so heres for the moments of before.......and the memories of today and tomorrow.....

peace n energy

absolutely

even though i haven't experienced much of the "good ol' days" of psytrance...i do see people talking about the whole "isn't the way it used to be" deal...in fact, i usually end up thinking "am i going to be saying that in the future?"

it seems like a never ending "struggle" in that sense, but as you're saying here, i agree..the "struggle" of it isn't necessary when you look at it in this way..

Trance is beautiful in every aspect. In how it has evolved, constantly evolving, so much so that no one can say for sure where everyone here today is going to be in relation to psytrance in a few years.

I'd say that we just shouldn't look at new ways of programming, rare sounds, experimenting, etc., with regret or shame...
Just let it in and dance

For me this has been an incredible summer in terms of psy. The vibes have been particularly beautiful lately, especially at the outdoors. Lots of good attitudes and enthusiasm. Things definately are different than there used to be, perhaps most importantly that a lot of the faces that used to be at parties arent seen at parties as often or ever anymore. People are irreplacable, every combination of people is unique and irreplacable, so whenever that changes something is lost that doesnt come back.

Musically speaking, yeah a lot has changed. For one thing the 303 sounds are lacking. Things have supposedly "evolved" since then, but I still havent heard anything that has such an immidiate, dramatic effect on my consciousness as the classic oldskool Goa acid line. In trying to be creative, artistic, not be repetetive, Goa became Psy and got better in many ways (production quality, diversity of structure and sounds used). However some key things, namely the 303 acid line, the ethno-focus, and the industrial/EBM influences were neglected, while the disco/acid house/hardcore/metal influences became more predominant.
I think the music today is as good or better if you know where to look (there was a good amount of crap Goa back in the day, but no one remembers it because it sucked).
Still, I think Psy would be better and will die less fast if it gets back in touch with the ethno/EBM/industrial origins and, yes, resurrected the old Goa liquid squealchy synth sounds. The liquid acid sounds, not they dry acid sounds of post 2000 or so, the sound of tipworld going dry as your grandmother (it does seem theyre making a comeback though). You know the sounds Im talking about...
but I ramble, time for me to get off freakin Isratrance..

Oh yeah 1 more thing, and although the lessened emphasis on the sacred is lamentable, I really do not miss some asshole with a flyer for an overpriced party trying to justify the price by saying "But this is SACRED music, you would pay any amount if you really loved it". I don't miss that. Do not miss it at all.

It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

I would not be so optimistic. A label that just released Dali is far from over releasing cheese (sorry my personal opinion about that release of course)           http://www.peopleagainstpeace.net/
