I agree with you Green. Good music is good music, no matter what. No wars and respect for other people's taste.

This is my first post in this forum and it's really a pleasure. I've been learning a lot just by reading you guys discuss trance topics. The first trance party i've been was on the begining of this year. I'm new at the trance scene here, but I got lucky to meet and be friends with people that go since the first parties, so they took me and showed the good stuff. I've been to really good festivals in here such as trancendence and Celebra Brasil 2, awesome lives. I'm addicted now...

This is a really interesting topic in Brazil because liking trance is "cool" now in here. I have no right to complain cause if it wasn't, maybe I would never hear it. But the fact is that the people that are starting to hear trance ussually do not like prog. And most of the new people at trance parties in BRA are going with the wrong vibe (only to drug themselves until they fall, making the dance floor a big trash can, ect). Many bad parties. But many awesome too.

So Organizers (without the intention of making money) are making progressive parties, so the new people don't show up. Most of the people who like prog in Brazil are "oldtimers".

I have no problems cause I like all of them, as long as it is good.

That's it.

tchau.

Both styles are good. I find the tracks and artists that I like and I don't care about what others think of them. Everyone is going to have an opinion. It doesn't mean it is right.           It's moving so fast, it's standing still.

hmmh... who is narrowminded? who is labeling? you're just on a different "level" in the musical fractal than the prog vs. full on guys but still gathering the trance-tribe (i agree with you mr. anteater) around you to feel safe.
it's JUST music... trance is a state of mind in which you listen to ANYKIND of music. try it out: anything from classical to britney spears can be psychedelic or an entrancing or uplifting experience if you allow it to happen : )           ...Follow the Cable (and you'll get there)...

I think this "war" it's just part of an evolution. The underground scenes allways have been absorbed by the mainstream. If it sells then business will come and take over. Progressive and minimal usually came from countrys were isn't easy to party outdoors. It is cold and ppl stay indoors. The sound reflects that, inviting to a more "controled" dancing. The crowd wont let you jump like crazy as if you were in the wild.
If I'm DJing in a club or in a forest, the music I play will be diferent.
I'm happy to see that Psytrance is making a difference in the music scene, but I'm unhappy that the message (P.L.U.R.) got lost in the process.
Peace!
