people are just getting used to their "sound" for example full on people will find it hard to adjust to progressive basslines and grooves and vice versa (bassline was only an example you can say that about other things).

ps. beat bizzare are both progressive and full on (released on both Iboga and TIP).           REHAB is for quitters

when more people will start writing their own music seriously then we'll have more people with an opened mind (and ear)...

until then i think that this overdiscussed topic takes even larger meaning every time we discuss it...

listen to whatever you like without being influenced a lot by others and leave other to listen what they want...           in search for an answer...

The key to happiness is to listen whatever you like without having any barriers of labels, fashion or whatever. i listen from hard psychedelic trance to rock music, industrial and house. Its nice to have a little bit of everything. You never get bored and you always listen something different. Variation is the key to entertainment and happiness.

whatever happend to people that just like trance music? the genre war thing so is tireing. One of the things i loved about goa when i started listening to it years ago was that it included so many elements of so many styles. It was a fusion of culture and music styles. Now goa is considered "dead" out of style, passe whatever and got cut up into "progressive" "full on" and "minimal".....yea whatever that means. To me its all trance. I dont even know the difference between full on and progrssive. Nor do i care. Should i? no because good music is good music regardless. Im only 24 and i sound like an old fart allready!! *grumpy old man voice* "....baaack in my day we listented to GOA!"

I live in the states where people bitch more about drum and bass vs trance then progressive and full on. The psy trance lovers here also enjoy house and techno and support the scenes here. I listen to all styles. I even produce all styles...if you wanna call it that but its all just music anyways right?           Anomaly

It's true.
Zombi is right. U feel as if there's a war cause we talk about it and discuss it here.
No war outdside.

I like psychedelic music. I openly say that - and the first reply I get is "stop living in the past". Both from progressive and full-on fans. I on the other hand think that music which isn't psychedelic shouldn't be called psytrance, and if it is, it's a disgrace, because that's going against not only everything that this scene was built on, BUT AGAINST THE FRIGGIN' NAME OF THE GENRE!

But then again, I may be one of the narrow minded people that think that psytrance has anything to do with psychedelia. That's the way I'm was treated for a few of those comments. It's not just proggressive vs. full-on vs. minimal vs. Finnish music - everyone has his favorite music and will get totally pissed off when someone says it's not the best. Call it ego - but I still think that everyone hates it when they make the thing he loves most less valid.

Or I may be totally wrong here.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

There is a war going on you either accept it or die...
Just kiddning , i dont mean a war litterly, come on guys you know thats not what i mean... But what i do mean is that is sad that people are narrow minded, and it's not just in trance, but in many things, but i just hoped that trance would be different, and i just want shet light on the fact that consept of trance music, trance culture if you will, is splitting up in to groups and i dont like that idea, because pretty soon there will not be a trance culture, but pro-culture and full on culture and so on, and maybe some in here like that idea but i dont...

Kaz i agree, but dont you think that it is better to be open minded then narrow minded you right i also like psychedelic 'trance', and i agree that not anything that is referd to as psy-trance is, but that is the problem exactly what we define as psytrance (or what i define) stuff like sandman, and things like that is also a genere under, Hard trance genere, and all these fucking generes are making me crazy it's all music alla TRANCE... it has nothing to do with defending 'your style'

This is exactly how these "wars" start.

Hey ppl, this is just a semantics.
I like MUSIC, regardles of the subgenre, there are fullon, proggy, minimal, goa (whatever) trax in my collection that I love.
I don't have "my" specefic genre that I like more than others.

P.S. And if I remember right, several years ago there were no such "wars" (i mean here in Israel), cause at that time there were no "genre" parties at all. Nobody knew about subgenres, everybody talked just pure TRANCE !           -=Lead System Designer=-
