Eskimo has the most powerful live act. It's an experience completly different from the rest. Be prepared for the most powerful dancefloor music, the most mad dancefloor you've ever been and his gesture show is something you won't believe your eyes. Just watched Eskimo for the 2nd time this saturday and it was something unexplainable. Again Junya made a cloud of dust arround the dancefloor... it was like dancing in a desert storm. Amazing...

yes i also love the way he plays all the sounds in his tracks with his hands in the air...

He should at least buy himself one of these

So he can pretend that he plays them, it would be more credible...

Well in this days i think no one can beat:
-Infected Mushroom ( i dont ear them for about a year now but everytime i heard them it was amazing, a true live concert, with all the feelings and good music they show us)

-Dino Psaras (only saw him twice and i love it, really good music and presence, the man rocks!)

-Mukunga Umbura (loved loved loved his act @ Boom 2004, really great music and feelings)

-Menog (it just keeps better and better, he knows how to build a live act, wich song to show, one after another )            life is short or to long so i can give myself the luxury of living it so bad.

Some time back i saw 1200 mics here in switz so me & a friend went backstage to take some pics..We saw raja ram pretending to play a keyboard that wasn't even switched on!

As for people mentioning how great the infected live act is..Please are you kidding me?! Its so noisy & the guitar player thinks he's hendrix or something & plays throughout the set..It would be ok if it was for a couple of songs but com'on! I couldn't dance to their act the last time i saw them i really hope they get rid of the guitar player or at least tell him when he's supposed to play!

To be honest i've seen many live acts & i always go backstage to see what exactly they're doing..Most of them just play wavs off ableton..I saw Sub6 recently though & they were at least trying..They had a TC electronics FX unit & a nord lead & were putting them to good use..

As a producer i know its hard to have a proper "live act" its just not possible..But the least you can do is leave some synths playing in midi & play around with the filters or add some noises on top!

1200 @ the famous scarabeus festival. I remember well how raja was jumping around furiously on stage hitting his percussions and playing on his psy-flute... acting might be a better word to describe. still, their music on a big system kicked ass. unfortunately, most headliners nowadays don't really perform live on stage, you pay to see them and awe at their elite status.

My 3 favourite lives, for which i'm greatful to have experienced them:

Cosma (rip) - Wow, will never forget that deep atmospheric energy he created on the dance floor.

Eskimo - ok, not really a proper live, but this kid is a pure genious, he can create such an immense galvanizing vibe on the crowd and his music really kills!!

Pop stream - An artist who is worth the money for his live performance. Had the pleasure to hear, see & dance out my soul to his high quality mastered sounds. Pls more artist like him.

definatly true ... the most often you pay your entry to see your popstar with his 1h24 of fresh new stuffs, with at least one or 2 tracks you already know to make you screaming a little more.

eskimo has an incredible high level production, but be paid 3000 euros to press play on my i-book i would feel me a bit unconfortable. (ok, we have to not forget all hours behind) .. but a minimum of effort would be appreciated, hu? ..
and yeah, special mention for those who play with hardware disconnected.

infected probably goes to the true way to make what we can call a live...

for little artists its another story because they all wish to have plenty of synths connected to a 64 channels mixer ... when you try it once to go that way, you must connect your machines under the rain, sourrounded of beers ready to fall down on your virus ... and at the end the organiser wasnt reachable coz he left to another planet.
... the next time you play, you wisely decide to take only your laptop and maybe a midi keyboard to have some fun .. great, it hasn't crashed .. but then you hear people saying in some forums about getting bored to see mouse performers.

hmm.. not so easy
ok.. a bit off the topic, but just wished to make some blabla rather saying who is the best or not.

SO FREAKING TRUE !!!!!
I would say its not the artists fault that most lives are fake, i would say its the organisors fault...
And if your an organisor you could ask what kind of performance the artist you book will do, but honestly, They dont give a fuck...
Why cause ppl don't know shit anyway... 99,9% of lives are fake... and there is a reason why....
Organisors don't want to put money into real lives, artists not able to do balance before they play, so its normal we get stuck with a nerd behind his computer...
At least they got that way to make money since everyone is stealing there music for free.
