Posford and Infected in the same style? Borris, while I truely respect your opinions about techtrance and progressive, to me this is worse than saying that X-Dream and Derrick May are the same style.
Posford is one of the most non-linear musicians in his attitude. Infected may have the same idea of what psychedelic is, but their idea of music is much more linear than his (more of a full-on build than a classic psy build, which Posford invented and perfected IMO).

As for me, Infected aren't so psychedelic... They are more melodic.

First of all, I want to say that I think that G.M.S. and Infected Mushroom did not made a real revolution in thier sound and music, but instead they gave psychedelic trance a more wide spread and recognition and a more "mainstream" sound if you can call it that, which made the "access" to the psy-trance more easy for newcomers.
second, what I mean by artists who made revolution in the scene, is artists who help to develop new "sub-genres" in psy-trance, and made it before others do. I think the "roots" looks something like this :
Goa Trance - Juno Reactor, Astral Projection, Prana, Transwave, The Muses Rapt, Total Eclipse, The Infinity Project, Etnica
Psychedelic Trance - Simon Posford, X-Dream, Koxbox, Quirk, Deedrah, Eat Static, Hux Flux / Logic Bomb, Tim Schuldt
Minimal / Progressive Trance - Atmos, Son Kite, Intact Instinct, Shiva Chandra, Tarsis, Haldolium, Noma, Vibrasphere
Tech-Trance - 3.Turn, Spiralkinda / Midi Miliz / Spirallianz, X-Dream, Wizzy Noise, M.O.S
I hope you see what I mean, but please correct me if i'm wrong ? |

... for me a great revolution is happening now. Psytrance is "getting off" from Psytrance.
You're seeing a lot of new styles appearing day after day, some new definitions to some trax that can't be only Psytrance stuff.
I know that in all the "psyhistory" we've different styles, but if we analyse what we have today... hmmmmm, it drives me crazy! A lot of names, definitions, sounds, etc... and some of these new styles, for me, isn't Psytrance anymore (eg. Minimal and Psytechno stuff).
just my opinion...

in the past simon posford and infected mushroom, but in nowadays nice sounds with melodies like alien project and astrix , but exist a many subtitles in trance like a
psy-progressive (koxbox live act), ... it's a example; and a full-on from russia dirty psy....... (fungus funk)and much more , i like so much a diferent styles in trance world ...............
